Alexander - Protector of Mankind

Two fandoms that I'm in have Alexanders - Smallville and Buffy. Neither of the Alexanders go by their full name.

I looked up Xander here and got some interesting results:

Interesting how the choice of a diminutive changes so much. Neither of them fits the profile of 'Alexander', but both of them very much fit the profile of their chosen names.

And both of them are 'protectors of mankind'. Or believe that they are. In the future, Lex will hate the 'alien'. I'm sure that he thinks of himself as protecting mankind... humankind. No aliens in the club. And Xander chose to become one of those who protects mankind, again, specifically, humankind, against vampires and other forces of darkness. But neither of them carry the full name... because neither of them will see past human and into person? Xander is closer than Lex will end up being and he has more of the name.
