A Working Woman's Woes

The other day, I told myself to look at everything about the job as opportunities. Like, the fact that it takes up time that I normally would have spent doing computer stuff, well, that just means that I'll appreciate my free time all the more.
But what I appreciate most right now: that I can sit down. As I was leaving, I said, "Thank god that I can sit down now. Thanks, God." (that last bit is a thing I'm trying to do nowadays; whenever I say a general "thank god", I then modify it to a personal, Heaven-directed "thanks, God")
Seriously though, every moment that I'm at this job, I'm in pain. I was fine the first couple of days, but then my feet started hurting. It takes a couple of minutes sitting down for the pain to fade to an ache. The ache stays for a few hours and whenever I stand up during those hours, the pain comes right back. One of my toenails is growing out purple: the pressure of my shoe seems to have bruised my toe. The arches of my feet are bruised, red with broken blood vessels.
Still, got my first paycheck yesterday. Most of the people are nice. And I've always been good at covering my pain with a smile.
It's never all bad.
Hmm. I don't really have an un-ultra happy 'real life' icon. (wonders if the reason was lack of a real life)
And I get off at 4 pm next Tuesday, so I'll be able to record Buffy.
Oh, shit. I totally forgot to open the weekly boyband challenge. This is what having a job does, she mourned.
edit: I'm just saying that a job shouldn't mean that, for hours after your shift is over, you say, "Oh, fuck, the pain!" whenever you stand up. And now, I'm also occasionally having painful muscle spasms. The pain has extended into my sitting-down time!
