It is so weird that Darla 'gave birth' to both Angelus and Connor in alleys. I mean, weird in an interesting and cool way.

Also:
"But you're missing the crucial point here. Things fall apart. Not everything can be put back together, no matter how much you want it."

And Angel's "As a vampire [she had 400+ years], but before that she was... she-she never had a chance."

And Lorne knowing that he's going to regret his decision here? If we can believe Jasmine, this is where Angel earned Connor's life. And Connor brought everyone a heap of regret.

God, I wish that Connor had had the chance that Darla had. That he'd gotten to feel what it was like inside Angel's head.

...check out "Quickening" or "Lullabye." Good old ME and its incest kink. Tim M. after season 2 summed up Angel's feelings for Darla as: "You're my mother and my lover and my oedipal complex and you dammed me. Also, you're really pretty."

By the end of "The Trial", Darla had come to the point where she felt human affection for the first time; and note that during Angel's trials, when she can feel his agony, she wishes he'd break it off, even though "Jeeves" has made it clear this would mean her death.

Since the re-vamping was not Darla's fault, I always thought that Connor's soul was, in fact, Darla's own.

Good points. I've always thought that Connor was *the life* Angel earned in the Trials. They had to give him one because he had done all that was required. It just couldn't be *Darla*.

And that would be why I don't know why anyone was shocked at the Connor/Cordy. I mean, how many incesty type things had we already had on the show?

Angel/Darla was actually more incest than Connor/Cordy, because Connor had no memories of Cordelia before Quartoth. Wheras Angel and Darla did act out the parental relationship as well as the sexual one for centuries. And then we've got Drusilla and Daddy, and Dru making out with Grandmother who is also her daughter, and dare we mention there was a rather odd vibe between Angelus and Connor?

Hmm. Did he ever really spend all alone time with Willow? And of course, he was busy being tortured when he was with Holtz. Maybe that threw his sex-beams off.

He had the scene with Willow in "Innocence" where he menaced her, and it wasn't sexy in the slightest. (Well, not to me, anyway.) As for Holtz and torture, hey, there was plenty of vibe when it was Spike doing the torture (okay, that was Angel, not Angelus, getting tortured, but still). And who boasted about Dru and the pre-show? No, excuse not accepted. (Also, you can't say Holtz himself was asexual; the man had great chemistry with Justine. Or Wesley, for that matter.) Meanwhile, other examples of Angelus NOT having a sexual vibe with characters occured to me: James and Elizabeth. The Angelus groupies, each and every one of them, in the demon bar.

You've got me. Damn. Okay, Angelus has sexy vibes with nearly everybody. Because I definitely agree with you on Innocence. And Holtz. And the random characters.

Which means the Connor thing might have been intentional, what with the incest kink ME's on. Though Angel is probably surpressing it like hell. It's not like he doesn't have enough Connor-related trauma to deal with.
