First, on a totally different subject - I adore the preview for Prisoner of Azkaban. A lot.

Ah. Chloe worshipping at the altar of Lana. I didn't actually miss that. Didn't really need it back. And shockingly enough, Lana has yet another guy with a long-term obsession with her.

You know, it's not so much that I hate Lana as that I hate the way people on the show treat Lana. That's what really bugs me.

Hee. I love Lex. Dropping the file on the floor. Hee!

Dude, no wonder Clark got suspicious. That was quite the turn-around.

Magnetic boy is a honey, though.

Ooo. That Lex/Chloe scene was very interesting.

Yeah, everyone always owes Lana apologies and she never owes anyone any because she is perfect.

Dude, Clark is just being a stand-up guy in this episode.

Wait, she planned a date with this guy and still hadn't asked anyone to cover her yet?

Well, no wonder he's so open with her - he can control her.

Poor Clark. You'd think after a guy has been right as many times as he has, he'd get a break. He's got good instincts when it comes to the guys with bad intentions.

Mmm. Loved the Chloe/Clark smooch.

Hee. He ditched her to face the cops alone! Hee! Oh, that was almost worth watching Lana kissing someone.

Jamie Kennedy used to look like a taller Seth Green. He looks a lot less cute in this year's promos than he did in last year's.

Mmm. I love Lex.

Damn. He came back for her.

Love that Clark's using his brain more.

The Angel commercial had me grinning. Wesley was actually in it! I know! I was shocked, too!

The Lana/Lex scene was so... odd. Just very odd.

Apparently Lex and Clark aren't allowed to have scenes together.

Man, Lana makes me roll my eyes. Such a self-centered little princess. Actually, she reminds me of Angel's Season 2-Season 3 Cordy. When people stopped bursting her bubbles and just admired her, egotism and all.

And I walked away to get ice and missed the preview for next week. Hmm. I wonder what happened. And how much gratuitious Lana there was.

And this has nothing to do with the current season of Angel, but I thought I'd mention that Darla is her most breathtakingly beautiful to me in Reunion- it's when she's recently raised, Angel's managed to throw her to the ground (amid the broken glass - there's so much broken glass around Darla in S2. Angel keeps trying to find himself in her, save himself through her, finally just lose himself in her, and the glass keeps breaking when he tries.), and it's just before she looks up at him and says, "Angel?" in that brilliant tone of confusion. She's just gorgeous there. The way she tilts her head when she's looking up. And she looks good in white.

This is probably part of the reason I didn't mind the anvil of Darla in white in Inside Out. Actually, it strikes me as fitting. She wore white into her rebirth into evil and she wore white when her son finally did something indisputably immoral. Because until the kidnapping and his assistance in the murder of the virgin, he hadn't done anything that was. He did his best to 'cling to the good' and 'lay waste to the evil'. And he knew that killing was wrong. You can see it in his face. He knows that he's crossed a line. And so he had to throw himself into the lie, because if it weren't better, then he'd betrayed everything good inside himself for nothing. No wonder he gives up after he destroys the beautiful lie. Could he have rebuilt? Could he have redeemed himself? We don't know. But we, and Angel, know how long and painful that process is. And Angel probably figured that Connor had had enough pain for any lifetime. Honestly, I would have made the same choice. He was an exhausted, hurt kid who was so incredibly lost. And it's hard to find yourself. And it hurts. And, like Angel, I just didn't want Connor to hurt any more. I wanted his pain to stop. I wanted him to be allowed to rest.

And wow, I really do go on. This is what happens when I have nothing to do the hour before the shows start. I can't read lj or boards because of potential spoilers, so I must either find something else to do or just reflect. And when I'm revved up for the show, then I pretty much can't find something else to do, because everything inside me is focusing on the Angel of it.

Hee. I love Wesley.

"Right now you're standing on the brink of my patience."

"Yes, thank you, Wesley, I'd love a gun."

Hee!

Huh.

When did she get shot? I'm so confused. Luckily, Wesley is hot enough that I don't actually mind. I'm sure that some confusion is good for the soul or something.

I love the Angel credits. I've mentioned that before, I know, but I really do love them.

Aw. I love Eve.

Ah. Grappling hook. That's what happened.

Well, that was only the most humilating way for him to see his father again.

Poor Wes. I'm already aching for him.

Hee. I love Wes. "I beat out everyone dying in an explosive as 'most embarrassing failure'."

God, I hate Wes' dad. I really see why Wes was so incompetent on Buffy.

Hee! Implied Buffybot mention! She was pretty adorable.

Gah. Knox is wearing a collar. I may die. Nah, it's just his shirt collar. Damn, so close.

Damn, but Wes gets all thumbs around his dad. It's hard not to revert to childhood patterns. I get that. Again, with the aching for him.

God, poor Wes.

"Luckily my father was there to correct my error." God, ouch.

He remembers Lilah.

Oh. He remembers Lilah. That makes me all sniffly.

Wesley got hit. I made this odd whimpering sound when it happened. His dad (or it could be a fake... I want it to be a fake) hit him.

Wes got hit. My poor, sweet baby.

Man, Wes is sexy when he's ruthless.

What the hell does that asshole think he's doing?

I hate Wesley's dad.

Aww. Both Angel and Spike tried to connect to Wes. Of course, it's probably not terribly comforting, being compared to a vampire.

There's so much ouch.

Oh, the phone and...

*whimper*

God, I hate Wes' dad.

Hmm. Next week looks intriguing.

I so felt for Wes in this episode, because I've gone through the same situation. He's always going to be looking for approval from his dad, and he's never going to find it. Err, at least that's my view of it, as seen through Telly-colored lenses.

And he didn't kill his dad but now knows that he's fully capable of it, which is... I can't imagine what that's like. He could kill his dad, if need be. Wesley is always willing to go all the way.

*cuddles Wes*

I really need to make a Wesley icon.

I finally watched Angel last night and I am dying to find Wes and comfort him. The way he shot his "father" nine times, with no hesitation? Ruthless!Wesley pushes all my buttons, oh yes he does.

Right. And like other people said, that first shot was to save Fred, but the other eight? Those were about the man who locked Wes up under the stairs, who never treated him as worthwhile, the man who pretty much never lets Wes finish a sentence on the phone.
