Drabble. An experiment in voice. Elijah had known.

The Problem

The problem was that Elijah had known all along that Sean would kiss him back.

He'd been able to feel it in the way Sean almost breathed him in when they hugged, as if Sean wanted to memorize everything about him. He'd been able to see it whenever Sean looked at him like he was the most fascinating thing in the world.

And when he was with Sean, he felt fascinating and brilliant and wonderful in every way.

Because of all that, Elijah had known that Sean would kiss him back.

He just hadn't expected Sean to kiss him first.

If that's an experiment, then it's worked. That is absolutely fantastic; I'm in awe of people who can say so much in 100 words. Wonderful mixture of confidence and confusion from Elijah. So good.

Thank you.

And yeah, first time writing Elijah (first time writing lotrips at all, actually). Strange new world.

I love the drabble structure - by chaining you in, it frees you, forces you, to be creative.

Anyway, I'm very glad that it worked for you - I read your fics recently (aka on my sudden, mad S/E adding spree) and went "Ooo!", so hearing that from you means a lot.

Absolutely wonderful. People hitting a home run their first time at bat really astounds me, and you've done it with this drabble. It's not a form I've had much success with, but I really enjoy other writers' ability to say so much with so little.

Looking forward to reading more of your work. Please say there will be more.

Thank you.

And there'll definitely be more. This was trying to find Elijah's voice - seems to have worked - so now I need to try to find Sean's.

I look forward to reading it when you do. So far Sean has been doing all the talking in my Seanelijah fics, but I plan on having Elijah speak for himself soon. *g*

Thanks. Probably won't happen until I'm back at my place tomorrow (I'm at a friend's right now).
