I finally convinced my mom to watch Smallville! Buffy and Angel were so much easier to sell her on, because she knows way smart people her age who watched Buffy. But either they don't watch Smallville or they aren't telling.
Comments (non-spoilery)-
In the beginning, she thought that Lex was just 'weird-looking'. After we'd finished the two episodes (Shattered and Asylum), he'd graduated to 'attractive'.
She spent a lot of time talking about how gorgeous Clark is, which inspired me to spend more time than normal mooning over him. It's like I'd almost forgotten just how beautiful Tom is, until she'd reminded me. There was talk of pretty green, wide-set eyes, strong jaw, and big hands. Also, much talk of how the casting is great because he looks like a 'Superman'.
And on Harmony - she was annoyed by Harm at first and when I said, "She was Cordy's friend in HS," Mom went, "Ah, that makes sense." My mom's Cordy hate always amuses me.
On a totally different note: Bush spoke somewhere? Was I supposed to care? Because I'm still trying that 'ignore him and when the election comes, vote against him' thing. I mean, I already know that I will most likely violently disagree with anything he says. Don't really need to see him talk to know that.

And worse, he's stilted and unfunny, so there's not even entertainment value. Ah well - it's mostly killing time until the party conventions this summer.
