Therefore, instead of being able to check my email, I will instead go watch an episode of due South. I haven't seen it in a bit. Perhaps Mountie on the Bounty (my first ever episode and the probable cause for my absolute and total belief in Fraser/Kowalski) or Gift of the Wheelman (wherein Fraser's dad shows up (finally!) and we have Ryan Phillippe, which amuses me more than it ought) or Asylum (which features an adorable Turnbull and some very slashy F/K).

Choices, choices.

Ah, and I have no interest in tricking anyone. I won't be doing anything special tomorrow.

And on the note of poetry (which we weren't on, but go with me), does anyone else attempt to pronouce poems as they would have been? For example, Blake's Tyger, Tyger rhymes 'eye' with 'symmetry', so I always find myself saying 'sem-i-try' in order to make it rhyme.

Eye rhymes were far more common back then. Would have to check if the pronunciation was indeed like that.

*flounders*

But! 'Symmetry' doesn't even look like 'eye'. One ends in an 'e'!

*flounders more*

Also, thanks. That's a very interesting link.

Ah, the glories of Due South! I think if you can take Kowalski (after all, many people couldn't) then Mountie on the Bounty is a wonderful thing to watch, although a person RK favourite is Eclipse (I realise I should be using more italics here, but it's early, and I'm lazy). Personally speaking, I enjoy the different dynamic of both Rays, and this is good because it means I get more episodes!

Am a total DS junkie.

due South is amazing. It's right up there with Joss' shows, which... is tough for a show to do, because I adore Joss' vision of worlds. Firefly, Buffy, Angel all touch a part of me where I feel like Joss is talking directly to me. Until due South, I thought feeling that way about a tv show was something only Joss could do.

I like both Rays, too, though I prefer Kowalski for slashing and physical attraction reasons (the only things I find attractive about Vecchio are his eyes). But Vecchio has an interesting 'older brother' thing going on with Fraser (which I both like and am annoyed by -- the way Vecchio youthens people by calling them by 'y' nicknames is vaguely disturbing, like he's trying to always sound like the Big Dog, which he probably is, though I'd guess subconsciously).

From a slashing point of view then I admit to being a Kowalski girl all the way - I could never see Fraser and Vecchio; the dynamic is completely different, possibly because, as you say, Vecchio is more like a 'big brother' than anything else, whereas Kowalski, with his habit of calling Fraser "Frase" was much more like a friend, as well as being one big mass of twitching emotions, all laid bare and just waiting for somebody to stamp on. Or to soothe...

Yeah, I could maybe see Fraser liking Vecchio That Way, but I totally couldn't see Vecchio making that leap. Some Like It Red points that out to me -- they do a very funny dance together devoid of sexual undertones. Pretty much everything Fraser and Kowalski do has sexual undertones and lots of 'em.

And Ray K. was just such a great character. CKR has a very distinctive way of speaking and of moving. He's incredibly dynamic.
