I've now seen Troy. I really only have one thing to say at the moment.

I really liked Paris. And it wasn't a case of liking the actor -- I like Brad Pitt just fine and was still thrilled to see Achilles die. I just... liked Paris. His attempts at bravery, his faith in his brother, his fear of dying, his love for Helen, his determination to bring down his brother's killer. I felt for him and I was very happy that he lived.

I like him too. It's tragic how things turned out, but that's youth for ya!

I also liked Commodus in Gladiator and felt like he would have turned out a completely different person if his father had even once shown him the sort of respect and love and faith that he gave to Maximus.

He just keeps trying. Fails a lot (a lot) but eventually does get up again. Not as brave as Hector, no, nor as honorable perhaps, but he tries.

Oh! I liked Commodus, too. That's actually the movie that started my huge love for Joaquin Phoenix. And I completely agree. People can move beyond what they've been taught but it's hard and rare.

I didnt disklike Paris like I thought I would.

I do think that the moment where he was clutching onto Hectors leg could have been enhanced more music.

I just hurt for the kid. Helen says it in the movie -- he's so young. Not because of age but because of both lack of experience and disposition.

I loved Hector, because he's the only hero in the film..and the actor is Australian, and I'm not adverse to certain level of pride when Aussies do well.

Orli..well, let's just say I expected more, or maybe I didn't expect more, I was hoping for more. He lived down to my expectations.

Hector was great. Very admirable, in a way that my dear Paris was not. If everyone had listened to Hector, the Trojans would have won.
