I actually liked quite a lot of it -- every single moment that Paul Gross was on the screen was beautiful. Gah, such a gorgeous man. I'm amused by the fact that even as TJ, he's still the best at everything he does. Apparently that's not a Benton Fraser thing, it's a Paul Gross thing.

Makes sense. You cast somebody like Paul Gross, it's hard to imagine him being anything less than really fucking good at whatever job he's in -- unless he has a reason not to care.

Also, it's amusing that they had to actually kill off his friend before they could hook TJ up with the chick. Because yeah, if he'd stayed alive, then you know that TJ would have kept choosing him over whatever chick. Paul Gross gives off great slashy vibes.

Paul Gross is so lickable in that black turtleneck he wears in Aspen Extreme. And that movie was made in 1993, so PG was playing a character 10 years younger than his real age, quite believably, too.

T.J./Dexter are slashy. Plus, Paul had zero chemistry with Teri Polo.

Bryce was such a witch to T.J. that his passivity in sticking with her sugar momma deal frustrated me. But he was young and immature, and any guy that pretty has got to be used to relying on his looks and charm to ease the way in life.

*boggles*

That was done in '93? They said T.J. was twenty-five and I just went, "Huh, this was made a while ago, then." But... wow.

God, Paul Gross is pretty. Wow.

So true, though it did help me figure out why the buddy-breathing always feels like a kiss -- PG exhibits the same body language when he does that as when he kisses. He holds her face (he also does this at the end of Men with Brooms) to guide her into the kiss. Exactly the way he holds CKR to do the buddy-breathing scene.

Very much, yes. He uses his looks and charm to get a lot in the movie -- his talent, too, but that's not what got Dexter a teaching job, that came from T.J.'s charm and his ability to look a fantasy.

I was pretty sure I was right about the year, but I went to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106315/ to check. Yep. 1993. Day-um, Paul is pretty. (You have to get [livejournal.com profile] stone_princess to tell you her embarassing Paul Gross fangirl story. *snicker* The curse of being a pretty boy at 40+...)

That would explain it. *g* Do you think PG did it on purpose, or was it Callum's Amazing Sex Appeal That Crosses All Gender Boundaries?

Fuck, the way his looks are holding up, he'll probably still be a pretty boy at sixty+.

That would explain it. *g* Do you think PG did it on purpose, or was it Callum's Amazing Sex Appeal That Crosses All Gender Boundaries?

Probably a bit of both. Because I'm also sure that PG probably knew that traditionally, buddy-breathing is mouth-to-nose.

Although I've never seen Aspen Extreme, I have to concur on the Paul-Gross-giving-off-slashy-vibes thing. I saw him in a production of "Hamlet", and his fight with Laertes was hotter than any scene with either Ophelia or Gertrude (yes, it was one of those productions). Hotter than twelve really hot things. Hot.

I thought it was a nice film and I kept thinking.." MY GOD that man is so gorgeous!!!".

My favorite scene is when TJ is left standing on the balcony throwing the papers away that represent his recent writing effort.
