My tv watching this season is confined to two nights -- Tuesdays *cough* Wednesdays (Smallville -- did you see that trailer? I died.) and Fridays (I'm thinking of trying Joan of Arcadia again, since apparently the last episode I watched was, like, the worst one of the season and suchlike).

And the Stargate's have an odd cable season beyond my ken. Plus, there's the Farscape mini, but that's only two nights, I believe.

But I have many (many) dvds to watch. And I found that great quote from Behr about Bashir and O'Brien that I'll put somewhere in the essay ("The relationship between Bashir and O'Brien is the best relationship... the best friendship in the history of the franchise"). All is bliss.

d00d, there's the Farscape marathon! Or have you marathoned it already with the DVDs?

I'm marathoning as we speak. Of course, I'm also marathoning DS9, so it's a diluted marathon.

But yeah, my netflix queue has the rest of Farscape hanging out at the top.

I thought Smallville was on Wednesdays?

Hmm, I think that you're right. Well, I'd have figured it out eventually. Possibly after I'd missed the premiere, but eventually.

But yeah, it used to be on Tuesdays, when it followed BtVS. Which was, like, two years ago.

You don't want to miss the first episode! Just so you don't miss it, the first episode is going to be on September 22 8/7 PM. And Joan starts up again on September 24.

Out of curiosity, which episode was the last episode of Joan of Arcadia that you watched?

The one with the really awkward kiss between the younger brother and that chick geek. There was some sort of contest or fair or somesuch.

They filmed the shuffling of the feet and it was all uncomfortable-looking and I do not watch tv for intentionally bad kisses. But the two Joan vids that I saw at VividCon were very good, so I want to give the show another chance.

And thanks for the premiere dates.

Yeah, the chick geek (Glynis) is pretty much out of the picture now. And you are totally right -- BAD kiss!

This is a relief. I'll check it out when they re-air last season's finale, then.

My television viewing schedule has been pared down quite a bit as well. With no Whedon shows (*woe*) this season I have a feeling that extra time will be spent reading fanfic. I suppose it could be worse.

I feel the ache of not having a Joss show on air, definitely.

I saw Colm Meany once at the counter of a Dublin café and just about restrained myself from squeeing at him. He looks so strange with brown hair! I think it's naturally red; god knows why he dyed it.

TV kind of sucks these days. And when possible, they put good shows on opposite each other. :P

Still, I'll probably give Smallville a second (third really) chance because the spoilers sound interesting. I was just so... dissatisfied last season with it, with some exceptions. Really giant exceptions really - like Asylum and Memorium (?), which rocked like nothing else. Still, I want (expect?) more from Clark this season, because I wanted to smack him hard with kryptonite last season several times, and it's hard to love a show when you're not happy with the lead.

I'll watch the OC as well (at the same timeslot as CSI, so obviously something will be taped), despite vague feelings of shame at liking such a soap-y show.

CSI - will watch. Because who doesn't love lab dramas?

Ummm.... Well, that'll be it until Stargate comes back. Sci Fi channel does this with the weird season breaks because they prefer to play new eps when regular networks are in repeats. They've done it for years, which explains why I can never remember which season certain eps of Farscape were in, because I can't remember if the season starts in Jan and breaks from March until July or starts in July and breaks from Sept - Jan. Still, they have some kickass movie mini-series happening this fall, so I imagine I'll watch a lot of this channel even if it's not episodic TV.

"The relationship between Bashir and O'Brien is the best relationship... the best friendship in the history of the franchise"

I've seen that quote before as well and always loved it. Although I tend to jump around a bit yelling Kirk and Spock... Still - that was present but not as delved into as it was in the movies, and then often as a reaction to K/S (man, ST5 was the first movie I saw, with the line "not in front of the Klingons" as Kirk went in for the hug, and I remember the entire theater cracking up because it so overtly referred to K/S (or so I was told later, by my minister, who had taken me to see it since she was a huge Trekkie and had introduced the show to me)).

Still, I get was Behr was saying, because I think the friendship between Bashir and O'Brien had 7 years to develop in front of viewers, going from puppyish interest on Bashir's part and annoyance on Miles's, to this very deep and mature friendship between 2 equals who had developed this incredibly strong emotional bond, beyond even that of their romantic partners. So... I can see what he's saying as well. :)

Yeah, nothing on the normal channels is getting my unconditional love this season. I do really like SG-1, but that's on Sci-Fi, and thus in a different category.

I do like Clark, even when I want to smack him, I just can't stand the show-wide worship of Lana. Can't someone not love her and not be reviled by the show?

Right, we actually saw the entirety of the B/O'B relationship, from first meeting to last stand (but with future promises! They'll always have the Alamo!). Whereas with Kirk and Spock, we did sorta come in media res.
