I really want to see King Arthur. Because of the sexy.

1. Empath demon, just as a general thing.
2. Could have heard it when he was reading Eve, since she knew.
3. Wesley could have told him straight-out, since he was helping Wes look all that stuff up. I mean, I'd have asked what the big deal had ended up being.
4. There's every chance that he could run across Connor in the future, and Connor remembers him now.
5. Either did that memory spell from StB again or something similar.

Season Four --
Scorched Earth
The Gad-Meer look so incredibly cool. Not to be callous, but I'd have chosen them over the Enkarans if I'd had to make a definite choice. Because, on the one hand, the Enkaran home world is still imtact, while this is the only chance for the entire Gad-Meer ecosystem to arise anew. And the fact that they look so cool has nothing to do with my feelings. Nope. Not in the least.

Man, they looked cool.

Daniel did the right thing, did his job, found a good alternate solution. Made his choices, just as Jack did.

I've been looking at the flow of the episodes of seasons four and five and there's a definite interesting movement in character and relationship dynamics. Don't know if it was intentional, but the changes were consistent and felt organic to the characters that I know. Particularly Daniel, who has an absolutely fascinating journey of despair and hope. And the relationship between Jack and Daniel... something must happen in season three to explain the starting dynamic, but I can clearly see the push in the beginning of season four. Daniel joining other SG teams for longer-term missions. Then the whole moral crisis thing that Daniel has about his path. Hmm. There's some interesting similarities between Daniel in Absolute Power and Daniel in Full Circle. A vibe.

Season Six --
Redemption
Jonas is so incredibly adorable. He gets excited over the weather channel. It's almost unbearably cute. I like him very much here. I liked him back in Meridian, too, actually. I think that I just like him.

If I had to choose one favorite [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza story of all time, it would be Kowalski Is Bleeding. This is because, as a writer, I'm very much a mininalist at heart. I want stories to imply rather than tell. KIS circles around Fraser/Ray, all the big emotional hearts and flowers of the relationship only barely touched on in images and Fraser's sheer bloody-minded determination. The moment that stands out the most for me is when Fraser points a gun at the nurse to find out where Ray is. Knowing who Fraser is, that moment says so much about far he's willing to go for the man he loves (I also adore The Killer Replacement for much the same reason. We see how much Fraser cares for Ray in how he's willing to abandon his previous life.).

When people explain too much, I get annoyed. I don't like being told what the characters are feeling, I want the how of it. Is Ray angry? How is he angry? How is he showing or feeling his anger?

I completely agree with you about wanting less rather than more explanation, with the feelings being shown by actions.

OTOH, I get very impatient with elliptical writing that is too vague, hinting too much and not coming through before I move on.

I'll be explicit here (with attendant risk of hurting feelings): I really liked the Harry Potter story Consensio by Isolde early on in the series, but lost interest later when too many threads of the plot were too vague. I don't want to work that hard as a reader, especially if there is a delay in parts of the story being posted, and I want some action eventually. (That said, I'msure I'll give Isolde's story another try when it's completed.)

Oh, yes, I agree. Vagueness is bad. The problem, of course, is that one person's implication is another's vague and one person's clear is another's huge honkin' anvil. And authors have to tread that line.

I like details and clarity, I just don't want it spelled out. I do like the 'how', but like being trusted to put together the 'what' that the 'how' makes.

I was wondering something

I forgot to put this in my main LJ entry, but I thought that the backdrop when Lorne was singing in Not Fade Away was similar to that in the narration scenes in Spin the Bottle. Could that actually be when he's narrating, do you think?

I hadn't noticed, but it's now something that I'll be looking for when I rewatch the episodes.
