Smallville 4x01 -- Crusade

So, I turned into a squealing fangirl the second that Lois appeared. She's investigating Chloe's apparent death (Oh, Chloe! Don't really be dead! (we didn't see a body, it's not true))! And she's Lois Lane! Lois! Lane! (and it really does seem to be mostly about the character, as I saw the actor on SG-1 and while I thought she was cute, I did not go, "So pretty, OMG squee!")

Lois and Clark was my romantic drug of choice as a youngster. I adored that show and that relationship. She lusted after Superman, but Clark wanted her to care for him as a 'regular guy' and finally, she did and they got married and eeee!

I really adored the Lex and Clark relationship for the first three years, but, god. It's Lois Lane.

And she drives irresponsibly and argues with herself about smoking. I love her! She's Lois Lane.

See. Squealing fangirl.

But I just love that she's the first person to see him. Because. They're so wonderful for each other in so many ways (I was fairly young when I watched L&C and it seems to have made quite the impression).

They updated the credits (a bit)! It's a miracle.

Who the hell is the blond guy?

Lex! Eee! He's alive, which isn't really a surprise.

Lois! She's so pretty and always in a hurry and stressed and a good person without really wanting to be and I love her so much!

Can Lana stay in Paris all season? She can have five minutes an episode and not be around Clark at all. It would be great. I'd love that.

Huh, boyfriend. Good for her. She and blond guy can have five minutes an episode and not be around Clark at all.

Awww... Martha nd Jonathan are cute and sad. Aww...

She loves him so much.

"You talk a lot." She does. It's adorable.

And don't worry, Clark, you'll get used to it.

Ooo, did you see that little smile? She's so turned on by the 'strong enough to pick her up' thing.

Oh, it is unfair how sexy he is like that.

I mean, he was mean to his mom. He pushed her! And yet.... sexy as hell.

Aw, Lana's boyfriend is so delusional about her. It's almost cute.

Lois! God, she looks beautiful like that. I love the ponytail. And she's gorgeous and tall and... gorgeous. God. She's so amazingly beautiful.

"Give me a nerd with glasses any day of the week."

Also, twice we see Lois in really cool mirror shot reveals. I wonder if that means anything.

Gah. Lois is so sexy and tough when she's on the warpath. I love her. She just gets right back up in his face. I love her.

So, we see Lana in a towel and, yep, I find Lois in jeans and a ponytail to be miles sexier.

She's so strong and wonderful and determined. I love her.

Clark!

Oh, the delightful enjoyment of each other while still honoring Chloe's memory. The utter adorableness of the two of them! Look at his smile!

Oh! And they're going to be an investigative duo to find the (still alive, yes!) Chloe!

Well, I'm sure that as soon as Lana gets within spitting distance of Clark, it'll all go downhill again, but I can dream.

Is Lana going to be back? Oh god, please no. I don't get why they beat that dead horse. It's not as if Clark and Lana are meant to be together. We all know it's Lois and Clark, all the way.

Lost was excellent! It was compelling and well-acted and well written. The characters are interesting and you instantly connect with the lead character. It feels like you're right there with it all. It is scary at times, which is cool because I'm not easily scared. I recommend watching the 2 hour pilot on Saturday, Oct 2nd when ABC re-airs it.

I don't get the Lana thing either. The idiots in charge have a thing for her (they think that she's the 'light' of the show).

Oh, it was definitely a good episode and I have to agree about the Clark/Lois. Even the actors have far more chemistry together than Clark and Lana have ever had. (Maybe that's because I just hate Lana).

And I was telling a coworker--I think the appeal of mean Clark is the same as bad boy Clark with the red kryptonite...raar.

Oh, yes! I adored Lois. And the actors were so cute together (although flirting on Chloe's grave was a bit... um... self-absorbed?). But yeah. Lois and Clark are darling together, and Lana and her new boyfriend are pretty good together, too... so that's settled, right?

The take-off for the flying thing was also one of the cooler things I've seen on this show.

Well, I don't think that they were flirting on purpose. They were both there to grieve for Chloe and then Clark went for the reassurance and Lois, for one, was surprised at her reaction to Clark, I think. Though Clark seems to be totally aware of his attraction to her. They ended up having some sparky dialogue that neither of them expected.

And yeah, the take-off (and the flying) were very, very cool.

Not until they splashed her all over the previews. I did know who would be playing her, since it's the chick who was Teal'c one-episode love interest on a Stargate episode.

But you had seen the previews, so I can ask my next question: can you imagine how great that teaser would have been if the WB had kept the lid on Lois's appearance? I mean, it was a little bit cool as it was, but the "dramatic revelation" of Lois saying her name was utterly without drama because we already knew who she was. But if the WB had kept a lid on it, it would have been one of the greatest teasers in the history of television.

Would have been much cooler, definitely, but the WB absolutely sucks at that sort of thing (advertising a 'surprise guest star' and in the same commercial, showing both Margot and her name... idiots.). So I'm not surprised. Because their ad department sucks.
