It is so weird to read someone's post and go, "Dude, I saw them at VividCon!" Because. Faces and fandom. It's weird. With [livejournal.com profile] jic, I've had time to get used to it. But it's so odd to read a post and go, "I know what they look like."

Cool, but weird.

Got the vid vcd that I ordered. Watched the Farscape 'Comedy Tonight'. Was amused. Was also very pleased that I only had one mental image in common (the most obvious one -- 'no royal curse') with it, meaning that I could theoretically do a vid to the Zero version and it would be completely different (as I could find something else for that line... actually, I've already had a thought). This is, of course, assuming that I gain the ability to vid at some point in the next ten years.

Also, the vcd contained a Farscape clip where John bemoans the idea the everyone he knows will be dead by the time he could get back home -- including Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love John's pop culture-loving self. John Crichton and the Scoobies are some of the few characters that you can have making pop culture references and have it be in character.

I think that season five may be my favorite season of Stargate. Though I'm really enjoying eight.

Five, though. The set-up for Daniel's ascension arc (intentional or un, it worked) was wonderful. And Jack and Daniel are so passionate with each other in season five, even when they're on opposite sides. Yeah, I think that five is my favorite.

I look forward to seeing that moment in context (though I believe the LatP trilogy is heavy on John/Aeryn stuff, yes?).

What is up with the Sebacean genes? They could probably cross-breed with a frickin' evergreen tree. Seriously, is there any race in the galaxy that they aren't compatible with?

It's absolutely crazy. And their incredible fertility with anything that moves might be part of the reason that they have such strict 'contamination' rules. Lots of prejudices get reinforced if there's fear of loss of cultural self involved.

Mmm, [livejournal.com profile] stariceling and I just watched "They've Got a Secret" today, the ep in which lots of D'Argo's past is revealed. And Aeryn is all like, "I was taught from birth that cross-breeding is eeeeeeeeeevil." So D'Argo asks her if she thinks his son is eeeeeevil, and Aeryn says no and promises to protect him and stuff. It's sweet.
