So, I was carrying my laundry out to the laundry room across the way and as I was stepping over the curb, I lost my footing, heard some horrible cracking sounds, and went down hard.

Luckily, none of the clothes landed on the wet and dirty ground. But there was blinding pain, particularly in the region of my ankles.

Eeep, I said to myself, that really hurts. Are my ankles broken? I soon realized that they were not, as I could move them. I managed to stand up and walked into the laundry, placing my basket on the table.

And then I sorta sank to the floor in a fit of dizzy pain. I'm not entirely sure how long I was down there, but at some point, a girl came in and asked me if I was okay. Another woman came along, and they helped me with the, you know, standing.

I spent most of the time they were there protesting that I was fine, even as my vision went blurrier than it's ever been before. Also, things looked really white for a while.

But I put the laundry in and then hobbled away.

Both of my ankles are in a bit of pain if I, you know, stand on them or move them in a hasty fashion. But it's not so bad, so I've decided not to call in sick and I'm going to work tonight.

Of course, if I were closing instead of pre-closing, I probably would have called in sick, but this is only a four and half hour shift, so I should be fine.

I was pretty scared there for a minute, though.

Quick addition, as I do have to go to work: Thank you very much for your concern, but the blinding pain was momentary and as long as I don't turn my ankles in a certain direction, I feel fairly normal. Please don't worry about me, okay?
