Nov. 26th, 2004 01:37 amSo, I'm finding it hard to get to sleep tonight. I'm currently doing set-up work on my website (nothing creative at this time of night, though, because I am tired, even though I can't sleep).
I'm officially twenty-two, now that we're past the 'Thanksgiving' thing and onto the day of my birth. Went to my dad's earlier for turkey and presents. Well, we started at my dad's and then went to my new grandmother-in-law's house. There was Trivial Pursuit, which was fun. The least fun part of the whole night was watching my dad and his wife get fairly well soused.
At one point in the evening, my dad remarked that he didn't know any gay people (one of the TP questions mentioned the word) and it was only to preserve holiday cheer that I kept my "Yes, you do, and I'm sitting right here," under my breath. Holidays are not the time to get into these things, especially with people who've had too much to drink, I would think. While I was driving my brother back over to my mom's, we had an interesting discussion on religion and free will (and I was pretty dismissive of Paul as a whole -- I don't like the guy much). I lent him Conversations With God; part one (the copy
jic gave me) so he could get a better idea of my views (CWG and Ishmael pretty well cover a lot of my general views on life and society, though I tend even more towards the liberal and radical end of the scale).
I'm going over to my mom's today at two-thirty-ish, where I'll also see my aunt and uncle and will get more presents. Saturday, I'll be going over to
jic's place, which is always a joy.
On a different note, I've been rewatching Buffy vids and Sarah is so fucking gorgeous. Such a beautiful woman.

Date: 2004-11-26 12:26 pm (UTC)And what I find fascinating about the way the show is done is that they know how to make Buffy look beautiful and how to dampen that -- one of the best examples is the run-up to The Gift, where we see the constrained, hair-up Buffy set directly up against the flowing and beautiful one who realizes the third option. Very often, they use the character's outer appearance to reflect where they are on their journey. Like how they use Anya's ever-revolving looks that match her attempts to find a 'self'.

3. Yeah. SMG really is. Saw some recent photos of her, and she's looking especially fine now that she's no longer pulling 18-hour days for years on end.

3. Yeah, she's looking much healthier. Not being exhausted is a good look for her.
