I mean this season we really had a mix of what "saved" the monster inside, with way more focuse on inner strengh and only one romantic love with the latest episode (even Cain got reframed to fit into the former) compare that to s8 we had *8* romantic parallels to Dean/Cas, I dont see them emphasing love and speficially romantic love in this arc :/
