butterfly: (Writing - due South)
Well, from my manager. I may or may not be working today - depending on whether or not she can get there. She'll call either way to let me know.

Of course, if I do end up having another free day, I do already have one plan (check out The Silmarillion) but this may prove impossible (if the fast-food restaraunts are closed, how likely is it that the library will stay open?).

So, if anyone else (or hell, the same people) wants to ask me to write them some fic, I probably have the time. And I'd be happy to do it, for it is fun.

Oh, and I'd like to welcome all the people who've been adding me to their friendlist recently. Just as a warning - I slash, I write het, I write tons of meta, and I have what should be an embarrassing amount of love for my shows and movies (I'm not embarrassed). I have no problem reading Real Person Slash, incest, or non-con - as long as it's well-written. I'm fairly easy-going and I don't like to argue, though I'm good with disagreeing or debating (it's all about the levels of anger and fear).
butterfly: (Not crazy - Lex)
For some reason, I'd been assuming that it would be returning with Angel next week, but I just saw something that says Asylum is tonight. Is it? Because if so... well, I'd be glad that I found out a while before.

Edit: So... tonight is a rerun (Extinction) and Smallville is returning with Angel?

The universe feels balanced again.
butterfly: (Happiness - Frodo)
I've been rewatching Fellowship (Extended) and thinking about Gandalf.

And wow, Sam looks so different. I hadn't realized just how much the hobbits change, appearance-wise. All of them look so young in the beginning. They look so young.
butterfly: (Happiness - Frodo)
Something I noticed this time around was Frodo's look when Merry and Pippin start to distract the Orcs. He mouths "no" - and you can see him telling Merry not to with his eyes. He just has this horrified and sick expression when he gets what Merry plans to do.

Then, after they've run off, when we see him again, he's miserable - he hates that he's leaving them to face the Orcs alone, but understands that they've made this sacrifice for him. And so he runs as well, but only after a couple of agonized glances in their direction.

No wonder he's crying by the side of the lake - he has to be certain that he just let his baby cousins go off to die... for him and his quest.

Also, on reflection, I think that May It Be is Aragorn's song to Frodo. It scans, including having a touch of Elvish in it. And he's the one who sent Frodo off with his blessing.
