Nearly New Year:

I've decided not to do New Year's Resolutions this year, since all they end up doing is making me feel guilty, especially since most of the time, they don't change from year to year.

All right. One resolution, but a new one:

I will live each moment to its fullest potential, taking the greatest enjoyment out of every day.

And that's a resolution that I have a chance of keeping. One that would make the year ahead a happy one.

Icon talk and new icon:

I seem to be making two separate icon sets for Soar, both Buffy sets, though one is a focus on Buffy and the other isn't. Both sets end with a 'cap from Buffy's General moment at the end of Bring on the Night. The Buffy-set seems to be a chronological thing, whereas the group one isn't, excepting that the final bit is all Season Seven.

I'm planning on making a Merry/Pippin icon, but am undecided on what, if any, text I should have on it. Also, I may wait until I have the DVD set so that I can make my own caps. I think that my paid time extends that far. I used the 'super shipping' option for Amazon, which means that it takes a bit longer but I don't have to pay shipping, so it works for me.

Also, new B/X icon.

So, I have 2 het icons (both B/X), 3 slash (all different couples). Only two pop folk. Actual fake-person fiction has overcome RPS. In fact, neither of my pop icons so much as hint at RPS.

Life stuff:

I have to take the car to the DEQ today to see if it passes.

Then, I'll probably be going to a concert thing, unless I don't,.which I might not, because I feel a bit sick. I was nearly throwing up last night.

Checked up on my shipment from Amazon: it should get here the 7th or the 8th. Since my paid account runs out the 17th, I'll have time to make a M/P icon.

Overall, I still need a job, but life is a good thing. Very much with the enjoyableness.

Website chatter:

One of the reasons that it took me so long to put up a warning page is that it feels vaguely hypocritical. I was reading slash at 16 and reading Harlequin romances a couple of years before that. And I'm a late bloomer compared to most people I've known!

I'll probably put Third Time (the lambs that I wrote for Don We Now Our Gay Apparel) up on my site today.

Also, I'm thinking of making an effort to finish WttH, since getting something done would be a good way to start the new year.

My brother looked at my site before he popped back south and he suggested that I add more graphics. Since, when all other things are equal and I don't have a preference, I like finding out what potential visitors to the site might think, and also to take advantage of being a paid member, I've decided to do a poll.

I've been reading sobell's CSI recaps for a while now. They're fascinating and I say this as someone who has never seen the show. Although, after reading her recaps, I'm tempted to go search it out. (Which is what a good review of something does: generate interest)

So, I type in "csi" and "nick" because Nick is my favorite character in the recaps.

Also, I didn't mention earlier that I also ordered Music for Elevators (ASH's CD!) and the Once More, With Feeling soundtrack which also arrived!

Okay, first a massive viewing of FOTR (God, I am so glad that I decided to stay home today). Then, I'll listen to the CDs while I 'cap FOTR!

I've never found the character of Sam to be beautiful, but there's a shot in the extended DVD of him gardening and the light is just perfect and he's so at peace and... beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
