I feel kinda sick.
Jan. 28th, 2002 12:19 pmEmotionally, I mean. I'm reading this book, Denying the Holocaust: The Growing Assault on Truth and Memory, which is a study of Holocaust denial. I almost threw up after the first five pages. How can anyone not believe that the Holocaust happened? It's a fucking historical fact. Which is something that the author mentions a lot, too. Fact. Not opinion.
I do want to keep reading the book, Deborah Lipstadt was smart to write a book about this, but it just makes me so angry. How can anyone...?
Nothing affects my emotions like the Holocaust, which I think is partially because I first read Anne Frank at such a young age. And I have this odd protectiveness about Judaism. My first response in any situation that involves Israel or Jews is to side with them. It reminds me a bit of my feelings for my brother. Feel first, think later.
