Huh.

I read the PopGirls reviews of Britney. Have decided to try listening to all of the songs in order. Have a feeling that it will not go well, as the last time that I tried this, I ended up screaming at the computer in Brit-hate.

Will keep y'all updated.

Slave 4 U

I really hate the title. It feels so grade-school. Bah. "I don't like to write out whole words".

Oh, dear. It's starting.

The beginning really does make me roll my eyes every time.

And really, she's the only one who calls herself a girl anymore.

"May come off shy." No, you don't. You never have.

Sometimes she talks in the break between when she's singing. At a time when, logically, she couldn't be talking. Sometimes she's still holding a note when she talks.

Bah.

Why do I torture myself?
butterfly: (innocent?)
Why does she feel the need to talk at the beginning of songs? It's a song. You're supposed sing. It's not a book-reading.

This song is seriously bipolar.

She keeps flipping between asking help and telling everyone to leave her alone.

Very defensive. And she says that she wants to take chances but then she says that she wants answers.

And then they do the talking bit again. sigh

'May'? Did she just try to pull a Justin? Sorry, babe, you just sound like a sick sheep.

Britney is a bipolar clueless sick sheep. Nice to know.

She is so confused. Seriously.

Lonely

The beat is too strong. It overpowers the words. And again, her voice has obviously been played with.

It's hard to take Britney seriously in this song.

"This girl don't need no man." How can I take that seriously when she's said that exact opposite? She's said that nothing would devastate her more than Justin leaving her.

*eye-roll*

Again, I like this song if I dissassociate it from the singer.

NAG, NYAW

I fucking love this song. Yes, I know that it's a manipulative thing, but really, all songs are. This song manipulates me like Justin's laugh in Bye, Bye, Bye does.

See, Britney? Really has no right singing this song. But unlike some of her other songs, I have no problem with mentally removing Britney from the song.

Because, whether or not the lyrics fit Britney, they do fit me.

I mean, I'm not a girl, because of the whole age thing and well, I'm just not, okay, go with me on this one. But I'm not really a woman because I don't really have practical experience, it's all theoretical.

Plus, I'm a sap and I like ballads. The piano gets to me. And her voice sounds less processed in this song. And it's kinda sexy. In this song. It's really the only song in the whole group that consists of Britney that makes me go, "Mmm... sexy."

Boys

I've heard it said that this is the song that everyone likes.

Not me. The clapping? Annoying. The talking? Annoying. The 'bwap-bwap' noise? Annoying. The inane giggling? Annoying.

Ick. "You're a sexy guy. I'm a nice girl." WTF?

Besides, this song kinda invalidates lesbianism. Just saying. Bah.

She seems to have a lot of fun saying 'nasty'.
butterfly: (innocent?)
Cheerful sounding, isn't it?

It's okay. I mean.

I don't really care about it. I don't like it. I don't really dislike it.

*shrugs*

Can't understand a word that she's saying.
butterfly: (innocent?)
What's with the sharp, loud beats? Do we want to blow out the listener's eardrums?

I know that this song is a cover, but I still feel the need to point out how dated it sounds. Dime, record machine.

Britney sounds like she smoked a cigerette before recording this song.

Whatever. I've never heard the original, but I'm certain that it's much better.

Cinderella

I have an irrational love for this song.

It has harsh beats. It's about a guy. Her voice is very synth-y. It has a spoken part. I should hate it.

But yeah. Love.

"Try to forgive me. I don't believe in fairy tales."

"But Cinderella's got to go."

Let Me Be

I like this song. I liked it when I first heard it on the On the Line soundtrack. I still like it.

It has a good beat and I think that her voice sounds nice.

The sharp hits on this one work for me, unlike the ones on Overprotected.

Ew. Ew. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.

Oh. God. Tell me that I didn't just.

"I'm here to testify that you're the only one I belong to"?

Ew. Ew.

"It's going to be exactly like in a movie, when we fall in love for the first time."

Ew.

Oh. At first, I thought that this song would be okay. Good even. But then the words started.

Ew.

And she talks about how he taught her not to compromise and...

ick.
butterfly: (innocent?)
Better. Much better. *reflexive shudder from Bombastic*

Still. Sweet.

Much, much better. Her voice annoys a bit, but overall, it's so much better.

I highly approve of the fact that 'Miss' is not a title choice for the name title on the Chili's feedback form.

Justin!

*teenie-squeal*

I like it. It has some edge. Attitude. Justin would be a kick-ass girl.

*wistful sigh*

I'm having trouble with the Jess/Brit story so
I decided to make a picture for it. )
butterfly: (innocent?)
Trying to explain RPF to a large group of people is very, very hard.

Meh.
butterfly: (innocent?)
God, now Jess is hurt and has decided that if Britney doesn't love her, then she'll make Britney love her. Oh, dear.
