Update on my life and times.

Shortened my bio from four paragraphs to two sentences. That feels appropriate. I'm not done yet, I'm just beginning.

In Biology, one of our current assignments is to research a question and set up an experiment, pretending that we aren't limited by money or resources. I'm writing about the effects of second-hand smoke on pets, on which it appears practically no research has been done. Tsk.

I'm planning on getting the review for the premiere of Enterprise done today and hope to be able to put it up on my site.

There's been a recent surge of JuLa fics after a brief dry spell. I'm amused by the fact that my drug of choice appears to be heroin. No light stuff for me, I go right for the hard core drugs that you inject. It's good that I'm not afraid of needles. Although, I also indulge in weed, tequila, and a bit of coke on occasion. Gosh, there goes being drug-free. Heh.

The Buffy DVD might be coming out soon. The very thought makes me giddy.

I'm slightly more coherent now. Um... bigass spoilers.

What a beautiful music video. And the boys put class back on MTV, a task thought impossible.

Because this video is classy, excepting only a brief moment when we can see the leading lady's ass. I excuse this because... well, it's a nice ass. Yes, I do realize that I'm shallow.

First off, the silent movie is hilarious. See JC do the Worm! See Justin fall during the 'arm-yawn' move! See Lance in a newsies hat! See Joey, the last true Italian New York gangster who sings! See Chris be one of those Key Stone cops from Pirates of Penzance! See a woman with a white feather boa! Maybe later on she'll sing the theme to A Summer's Place! And the choppy editing is perfect for this bit. And the flapper is so happy with her flower, which makes me all gooey too, 'cause she's pretty. And Justin faints. See Justin Faint! See all of the boys prance about like nitwits!

Whimper. Justin. Bench. Sleeve-less black top. There are flowers next to him. Was he taking them to her when he found out she left? If so, ouch. Poor baby. I love how it fades to black on the beat, so that the darkness hits you with the noise.

Close up. His little face! His eyes are so pretty in black and white. And the thing where he looks away and then looks back? Scorching.

When he stands in the room and does the little shoulder roll when he walks a step back? Mmm. I love the tattoo.

And the "Mmm-mmm." You can. His eyelashes. And his lips. He's so. Yeah.

Justin. Mirror. Hands in pocket. Oh, my. And then he leans back against the wall and you see his head go back. Oh.

Then the gorgeous silhouette of him in the darkened room. That's Art. Thank you, Herb.

First shot of 'The Girl'. I really think that The Girl is pretty. All tousled hair and dark eyes. Wow, those two have pretty smiles. Smile, Girl! Smile, Justin! She's wearing the little necklace that he gives her later on in the vid, so I'm guessing that he's going backwards in his mind.

And then the 'pop' and we go to the group shot. My summation of how the guys look? Don't mind if I do.

JC: Sleeve-less black shirt. Slightly mane-ish hair. A bit of facial hair. Not bad. Not sexy, but not bad. The one and only time that I've actually found Jace sexy was in that Icon thing-y. There was no facial hair. I am against facial hair on JC. And his are the least impressive of the bared arms.

Chris: (purrs)Nice. Black and white is a good look for him. The beard is good. The spiked hair is good. The ears actually do look slightly pointed.

Justin: Tattoo. Sad look. Sleeve-less. All good.

Joey: Mmm. Like the hair, facial and otherwise. Like the position. Like the fact that he's the perfect Joey-weight again. Like the whole thing.

Lance: *takes a moment to breath* *whimpers*

He looks good. And the way his body is ever-so-slightly moving is... very nice. Yeah. *swallows*

Justin is absolutely adorable in the toenail polish scenes.

Oh! Lance. With the looking down on "Gone." All sad and stuff. And Joey with the little head twist. So! Cute!

I love the Party scenes. Seeing all of them interacting with each other and other people is cool. I just love how much fun they all seem to be having. And Lance with one of those blow-y noise maker thing-ies in his mouth is a delicious image. And they're bobbing their heads to the beat. Gah! I. Love. This.

Justin sitting on the counter with his foot on the open oven door does things to me. And I love the incorporation of the ticks into a camera taking pictures. And him shutting the refrigerator door is nice. Something about a man in a kitchen, I guess. I can see his tattoo so clearly in some of these shots. Mmm. And when he turns against the refrigerator? Gah.

Dude, the Birthday scene? So adorable, with the sweet little kiss.

And the boys on the stairs. Nice boys. Nice stairs. Lance, pulling his arm back over his leg? Very nice. I've lost my vocabulary. Chris with the little head tilt. It's good.

Lip gloss scene. The Girl is very pretty. Very.

I like the Mirror scenes too. Really, I can't think of anything that I don't like about this vid. Obviously, I would have enjoyed more Lance but the song is very one-person orientated. Justin is so cute with The Girl. All cuddly and sweet. Like those couples that didn't annoy me(realizes that that is a different topic and this post is already too long).

So, yeah. The look he gives the mirror at the start of the bridge just makes me want to hug him and tell him that it's not his fault, it's hers, the bitch, and he'll find someone better. Poor Justy.

Ah, the Grass scene. It's not too bad. Of course, I say this as someone who was staring in lust at The Girl as she was rolling.

All of the guys on the grass-it's so sweet and sad. Joey looks especially nice. His shirt looks like velvet. And Lance is all glancing into the distance while twirling a piece of grass in his fingers.

And Justin's eyebrow lift on his "Oh-oh-oh."? Fantastic.

Chris does a cute little head bop. Cute is the word of the moment.

Lance. Mmm. Now hot is the word.

Kissing 'Up Against the Wall'. Thank you. Wow. The Girl really is pretty.

JC really does look more pissed off than broken-hearted. I don't think he got the memo.

Lance. With the "Gone." And the glance to the side. And the swallow, like he's holding back tears. Oh. Oh.

Chris looks cute. And sad. But in a cute way.

Oh. Lance is broken-hearted and looking down.

And Joey is sad on beat. Love the head bop.

Wow. The Girl is really, really pretty. With the big eyes and the face and the... pretty.

And then Justin. Silent picture. Justin's arm transparent. *shivers* I can see through his arm to the silent movie. How amazingly cool is that?

Further thoughts on 'Gone'

The video fit the song perfectly. The song is set after the fact - she's gone. It's not about her leaving, it's about missing her and wishing that you had her back. So, I thought it was appropriate that we never see her leave.

And the black and white just... I doubt it would be half as effective in color. And the difference between the silent film sepia and then the artistic B&W was striking and moving.

Have I mentioned that I adore the fact that Justin's transparent at the end? I do. It's like he's fading away against the memories that he has.

Classy, beautiful and sexy. What more could a girl want?

And I love The Girl. She reminds me of Emmanuelle Chriqui. Only with curlier hair. And yeah. Whatever.
