I'm not talking about The Siege. I just want to cuddle certain people involved and make things all better for them. And then let them cuddle each other.

I wonder if RCC and Co. realize what they did with the fish at the end? I mean, you can definitely fanwank to say that the team at the end is our original team, and that the first team was an Alt team, but they definitely made certain that the two teams aren't the same. Definitely 2010, not 1969.

It doesn't matter to me all that much. If the Daniel in the 'new' universe is still Daniel, then I'll love him.

The AU kiss didn't bother me... because it just struck me, no offense, as way too stupid. Ah, yes, let's kiss because I've discovered that we're going to be trapped here for the rest of our lives and you are now officially the last woman from my world. And then sparks fly! Because that's only way those two can generate sparks (actually, Jack was pretty hot with the whole "hey, you're hot" thing, but then Sam was all bizarre, so... yeah, it kinda faded). It struck me as maybe the kind of thing that an asshole would do, to be honest. But Jack's always capable of acting like a jerk, it's just that in our reality, he's not actually one, most of the time. It's just hard to take it seriously when that's all that the show ever does with AU Sam and Jack. It just points out all the (good) reasons that they aren't allowed to do it with the real ones.

Daniel's section broke my heart, as one might guess. I mean, I've already written "Oh, God, poor Daniel was trapped in Ancient Egypt and his friends were executed!" fic. Seriously, though, I'm glad that the timeline got set right, but my heart still aches for poor Alt!Daniel 1, who'll live out the rest of his life with mockerys of his friends, and poor Alt!Daniel 2, who got to play the parts of Kawalsky and Sha're in his timeline.

I wonder if the time without his friends at all was the hardest, or if it was worse to see these people who haven't... reached their potential. Teal'c might be the easiest -- this Teal'c is basically CotG Teal'c. He just didn't get his tipping point until eight years further on. But Jack... Jack survived past whatever happened to him, probably Charlie's death, but he stopped living. I look at the Alt!Jack we meet in the Dorkverse, and then our Jack at the very end... our Jack is genuinely happy. He has his Earth, he doesn't have to travel into the past, and his team agreed to come up to his cabin. Sam's the one that's the least like herself, so it might be easiest for Daniel just to pretend she's someone entirely new. He was definitely making a fairly game attempt to do that to all of them.

Oh, huh, if this episode is set during the ending of Threads (in between the naked Daniel and the fishing), Catherine's not dead yet. Of course, she's about to die, so it's not terribly relevent, I suppose.

I liked the short little preview for season nine. I don't mind the facial hair, either. Which is actually pretty amusing, because I am not a fan of the facial hair in general.

YES! Another fan that is happy to hand wave that the team in the end is still sort of our team. Personally I think of the team in the start as the AU team. So my team is ok.

Right, my heart breaks for poor dead Jack and Sam and Teal'c, and Daniel, who lived who knows how long with the mockery of his friends, but I'm so happy for our Jack and Daniel and Teal'c and Sam. Who have each other, and fishing, and Earth. I'm kinda torn, but willing to go with the happy ending on the show. The sad and bitter one is better left for fic. At least for me.

I definitely think that the first season of Andromeda is damn good sci-fi. It starts to fall apart in the middle of second season.

I really hate the time travel concept. It gets so messy. There were so many unresolved threads. What did happen after the rebellion? The AltJack and Sam must have lived happily ever after? Or did they all take the shuttle and go somewhere else? Was it just a matter of making sure the stargate stayed on earth and was buried to make everything OK. Anyway, messy! The bit with Jack and Sam in the shuttle kissing made me think of corny James Bond endings where Bond always ended up shacked up with the bond girl at the end while M and Q or whoever were trying to reach him. Then roll credits. I really hope things are different next season. The one glimpse I got of the new guy certainly got my attention.

I don't want to talk about SGA either. Damn them!

Perfect description. That's exactly what it was like.

That really only works in Bond movies. He's supposed to be a pig. That's part of his charm. Well, I suppose that this Jack was more into Bond and less into the Simpsons.

And dude, I can't believe that SGA did a three-parter. So unfair.

The kiss totally was way too stupid but it was alterna!Team so I didn't care and it was a smart way to add romance for the people who want it but not have to incorporate it. I could accept that. I did find the earlier scene where he calls her hot and she says she likes Daniel and he says 'but I thought he was...' pretty funny. One, I think it would totally make more sense that alt!Sam likes alt!Daniel, and two, Jack implying that he thought the Daniels were gay (or whatever alternative interpretation you want to put on that) is hilarious.

As for the time travel and setting things right and which team is it at the end? God, I totally didn't follow that. The jump from the kiss to the present day just left me going 'What? What did I miss? How'd we get here?'

I do kinda wish that we knew more (and we might've if they'd used their half-hour here instead on Threads), but I can buy the 'we know the plan, we know that it works, let's skip to the end'. They've done that before.

I laughed out loud. That one scene was worth the whole season. They have been slipping little bits in for us slashers. There was the guy Carlos in altDaniel's English who was HOT for him. Then there was the ep where Daniel is on the Prometheus and the super soldier (who he thinks is male at the time) is making a pass at him. Maybe TBTB are catching on??
