Avengers: it's a happy place

butterflyYou know, I think part of the reason that The Avengers is making me so happy is because it's filling that cheerful little superhero place in my heart. I was thinking about the shows that I'm watching right now and... not so much with the superheroes. The Vampire Diaries, Revenge, The Borgias... all about flawed people who are making unheroic decisions. They're often very understandable decisions, but they are not generally heroic.
I am amused that I came out of the movie mostly wanting gen team-fic. I WANT ALL THE GEN TEAM-FIC. I want all the Bruce-Tony science club joy! I want Natasha and Clint being awesome BFF-types. I want Fury being ruthless. I want... okay, I do want more Thor/Jane - I know that Natalie was pregnant during the movie's filming, but I missed her anyway - but I'm sure I'll get that in Thor 2.
Basically, I wish that The Avengers - with these actors and with Joss writing and directing - were a weekly TV show. I just want more stories with them!
