Okay, new theory for what's in the tomb and can potentially hurt Klaus - a Bennett. Somehow in stasis.
"Stefan thought that if you knew where the coffins were, then Klaus could threaten people to get the information out of you." So, basically, he didn't want to tell Elena because he figured she'd cave and give in to Klaus. Ah, sweet trust and respect.
Also, yay for short-lived secrets. I'm glad Bonnie spilled the beans to Elena. What a sweet scene for the two of them at the kitchen table, too.
"Want me to hang out in the back with you?" Oh, the amount of flirt in Damon's voice at the end there. Adorable. And then the faces he makes at her. And, again, spilling the beans to Bonnie. Perfect scene is perfect.
Ah, eep. What a time for Caroline's dad to come back into the picture! Eeep! I feel like this will end badly. Partly because Tyler always trusts all the wrong people. I feel like this is all going to be tragic somehow.
Oh, and Caroline's dad? Chaining up your daughter and torturing her does not fall under the category of 'mistake'.
Alaric: "My exes would call me-"
Damon: "Nothing. They're all dead."
Ouch!
Loving the Stefan/Klaus scene. Klaus has got his bearings - his composure - back after the events of last episode. He's back in control of himself now.
More Bonnie and Elena! Aw, mention of Grams.
re: the kiss
Bonnie: "Was it good?"
Elena: "It doesn't matter."
Bonnie: "That means it was."
lol, Elena straight-up lying to Stefan was fun. He doesn't get to ruin Bonnie's reunion with her mom!
Sadly, he saw the address, so he probably will ruin it. Oh, Stefan. Heh.
Ooo, new information! When Elena was only a toddler, she was already being scouted out as the potential doppleganger. Abbey is the witch that entombed Mikael! Wow! I was wondering who that was! Holy shit, I wonder if Mikael wanted to kill baby!Elena.
"Because Ric really likes you and if you were a psychopath, that would suck for him." Aww. So sweet, Damon.
Ah! There's the dropped shoe. We saw Daniel the hybrid show up at Abby's door and now we see what he did. I'd been waiting for something.
Then much exciting action and cat-and-mouse! Very nice. Both sides were intelligent. Well-done.
Ah, Elena tells Stefan, "I kissed Damon." She doesn't let herself hide behind a passive word choice.
And Stefan's absolute stillness (except for his eyes, thoughtful and then downcast) as he takes it in.
Elena: "I didn't plan on kissing him."
Steafn: "You're better than him, Elena. You're better than both of us."
Ah, trying to poison the well entirely, I see. I notice that her being ~better than them didn't stop him when he was the one she wanted to be with.
Ha, Damon de-daggered Elijah!
arabian will be so happy.
The family-theme of this episode was very heavy but well-done, I thought.

Date: 2012-01-20 06:31 am (UTC)but aaaarg Stefan has been making me so happy so long now and then he went and pissed me the fuck off in this episode. I won't even get into the punch, because I'll leave that long rant for my LJ, but aaaaaaaaaaaaaah how much do I hate the "neither of us deserve you, you should be with the kind of person I'd choose for you in my personal fantasies" crap. That's what made me go off Buffy/Angel after Season 3. DO NOT WANT.
oh, and I'm still with Original Mommy in the coffin.

Date: 2012-01-20 09:44 pm (UTC)Damon, Bonnie, and Elena were flawless in this episode. Love them.

It's so faux-noble! It's pretending that you want "the best for them" when what you really want is control over their love life.
oh, and I'm still with Original Mommy in the coffin.
Would not object to this at all.
