However:
NYSenate: Again to be clear, so far we have only passed THE AMENDMENT. The MAIN BILL HAS NOT YET PASSED.
So, still crossing fingers. The amendment is about allowing religious exemptions to equality, so it passing is apparently a good sign that the actual law will pass? Now I'm confused.
"I believe that a person can be wiser today than yesterday," says Senator Grisanti on why he decided to change from being against same-sex marriage to being for it.

The turning point in the debate came early when Republican Senator Stephen Saland threw his support behind the measure, being the 32nd senator to do so, clinching the support needed to pass the bill. "I have to define doing the right as treating all persons with equality," Senator Saland said, "I certainly am in peace with my vote."
