Vampire Diaries: 2x19 - Klaus

So, I did predict that Greta was probably better off than her family thought (because the women never need rescuing on this show, no matter what the men in their lives think), but I did not predict the siblingness of Elijah-Klaus. Though I should have because 'siblings' is such an important theme for the show. It makes so much sense!

Damon is spiraling hard. Feeling helpless. He doesn't do well with helpless.

Also, I see you, Stefan-Elijah and Klaus-Damon parallels. I see you.

Elena finds her third way, which is good. Was so not surprised to hear that the sun-moon curse was a sham. No, I didn't predict it, but it makes sense because it never made sense that the originals would care about breaking the curse - but it makes a great bit of honey to tempt the non-originals with.

Everything dealing with Andie is just... fascinating and disturbing. Also, I adore that actress. I think she's doing a really great job.

Katherine's idea that love isn't real unless it's returned is... interesting. Incredibly flawed but it provides insight into her (and I loved seeing the flashbacks!).

I also find it interesting that Stefan chooses to say that Damon will never have Elena's respect rather than never having her love. That stuck out to me.

I suppose he might say that because Stefan already knows that Damon has accepted that Elena won't love him, so he's attacking something that Damon does hope to have?

I've always been kind of an inexplicable fan of Andie. I dunno why I've always liked her so much, but there's something there so hat's off to the actress indeed.

*nods* all of Katherine's ideas on FEELINGS are deeply, deeply skewed.

Yeah, that actress has a spark. She's good.

Katherine is... ha. Even more emotionally wacked than Damon.

DOH. I did not connect Greta with Luka and his dad. Idiot.

Aw, don't feel dumb! I've been anticipating her, so that's part of why I was all - ah-ha! Greta!

Yes, Damon feeling like he doesn't have control is never good. I mean, this is the guy who owns ALL his actions, good and bad, and to feel like he can't DO stuff? Eep.

Of course the show went there with siblings. It's about what you do with your blood family and how that ties into the family you make for yourself, or the people that WANT to have you as family, regardless of how you're related to each other.

This show is ALL ABOUT family, yeah.

And about how they know best how to push your buttons. That Damon-Stefan conversation. Man. And then Stefan just flips from being an asshole to being sickly-sweet the second that Elena enters the room.

I am not one to give Damon a 'buy' for what he does, but I am getting sick of Stefan saying 'well Damon is just FLIPPING OUT AND IT IS WEIRD' not that he is NEEDLING HIM all the time, which would piss anybody off.

He is doing his 'sharing only the facts that make me look good' thing again and it is going to come back and hurt them all.

I mean- yes Damon is a damaged and mostly feral individual, but he will TELL you as much. There is no double talk with him.

Elena finds her third way

But what is her third way. I mean, it sounded like they still needed Bonnie to channel power to kill Klaus, so isn't Bonnie still going to die? I was so confused by that part.

Loved pretty much everything else about the episode though.

She believes Elijah when he says that there's a way to do the spell without killing her and that because Klaus will be more vulnerable right after the spell, killing him wouldn't kill Bonnie. I don't know if I believe Elijah, but Elena does.
