Stefan and Elena have special rules when it comes to Damon. Each of them has slightly shifting lines, and a lot of people just don't GET it. And yet, even though Damon killed Jeremy, she IS going to go and help him when he's hurt.
Yeah. And Elena kinda adopted that when she got with Stefan because that's pretty much the only way it could have worked. If she were unable to move past the evil that Damon has done, she and Stefan wouldn't work. They just wouldn't. But she's adopted more and more 'vampire morality' as she's gotten pulled into that world, which is interesting to watch.
Bonnie is, at this point, convinced that if she blames somebody else for everything, including the stuff that she has allowed/asked for, then things are all right.
Yeah. I don't think she wants to take responsibility at this point because that's just... too overwhelming. It needs to be other people's fault. Damon has done some horrible things, but what she was punishing him for was not one of those things that can be laid at his door.
Jeremy and Alaric - they have both been killed by Damon, had girls they liked go for Damon too (and they were killed too) and now? Alaric and Damon are BFFs, and Jeremy is starting to look at Damon like he might have the answers he's looking for.
