Fall television came back! Yay!
So, first some random - watched two interesting parts of a series on PBS called "In Search of Heroes and Myths". I saw the ones about the Queen of Sheba and Arthur: Once and Future King. Interesting stuff. I did not know all that stuff about Ethiopia being one of the first Christian countries in the world.
So, This Week in Television, I saw:
Glee 2x01: Auditions
Oh, Rachel. You are so very much not a good person. Try to work on being less crazy and racist and evil, okay? That would be awesome. Finn is actually making for a good boyfriend for you, as he's fairly good at making you less evil and this makes him look less dumb and then I like him more.
The new characters are interesting,. I like that Rachel now has a female rival in Vocal Adrenaline. Sunshine had a great rival 'diva' voice going on. The... new quarterback with the big lips looks interesting. And the new football coach... I like her more than I liked Ken.
A lot of the other stuff is the same: Shue continues to swing wildly between 'earnest' and 'soulless'. Sue is bad-ass and mostly evil. Most of the other Glee kids don't get enough screentime (though - hello, Mike's abs!).
I loved the singing. Which is the real reason that I watch the show, so that, you know, works out okay.
Bones
If I watch Glee for the singing, I watch Bones for the character interaction. Seriously, you could do away with the plots altogether and I probably wouldn't even notice.
Omg, Angela and Jack are having a baby! I hope that plot is used only for cuteness and not for angst or weirdness. How cute were they in this episode, btw? So cute! I'm so glad they got back together.
I loved the bringing back together of the team. I think that worked well to show that they have this affection and, yeah, when you have that magic together, it should be kept. Basically, this episode was hearts and flowers and cuddles for me in all the non-plot parts.
Smallville
That was epic, right? That felt epic to me. The first episode of Lois being in the know! Awesome! Seriously, the Clark and Lois stuff? ♥ all over the place.
And the Lex clones! There's a baby!Lex around! I always love Alexander. Presh little kid. Tess and little!Lex will be so much fun to have around.
Clark's vision of his dad was really neat. So, it looks like this season is all about Embracing the Hero. There was a lot of full-circle imagery in the episode, which I always love (I'm a sap for a full circle).
Fun times ahead!
