Wow.
That was an amazing ride. Curiosity to despair to hope to triumph to horror. Wow.
Brief list of things I adored:
1. How steeped in the history of our Doctor this episode managed to be - Daleks and losing people and he finally broke. He finally broke down that last barrier. Awesome and terrifying. Great acting, writing, and directing going on there.
2. He saved the adorable couple! I fell in love with Yuri and Mia hardest in the character introductions and throughout the episode and they got saved! (also, Yuri's casual story about his brother's husband! Awwwww)
3. Lindsay was just as fabulous as Captain Brooke as I might have hoped. Amazing back (and future) story. I cried during the scene when the Doctor was telling her what would happen. And her horror at seeing the Doctor embrace the ultimate power was amazingly done.
4. Just a great story.
I'm totally going to be watching this one again. Wow. There will be more thoughts on this one. Wow.
