butterflySo, the new promo for "The Planet of the Dead" aired on BBC One (it's been a while since I've used this tag! *dusts it off*).
That last shot before it all goes black may be one of the most beautiful shots this show has given us -- David's profile rimmed by that glorious red light. Wow.
So, yes, let's unpack.
He's on a bus and the bus lands on an unexpected alien planet (but we don't know if the bus is from Earth).
"Every single instinct of mine is telling me to get off this planet, right now." Hmm.
There's a bug-headed alien with a gun. There are at least 8 people on the bus that I spotted.
There are some flying... manta rays or sting rays, but with teeth.
And the Doctor's promise: "That planet out there with its three suns, wormhole, and alien sand... that planet is nothing. I'm going to get you home. I promise."
Oh, Doctor. He never does learn not to make promises.
