Overall, I really liked it. There were a couple of moments that I surprised had actually happened and weren't dream-sequence moments (because they seemed kinda -- flashy and easy, maybe?). I came out of the season really liking Blair and Jim, which makes me happy, and hoping that the second season comes out soon.

I'm currently doing a slower rewatch of the season, so hopefully I'll have deeper thoughts at some future point in time.

I got my DVDs today! But knowing my watching skills, I could watch them tomorrow, or it could be three or four years before I get round to them!

I have so much stuff to watch right now that I really have to decide what I want to watch next (I still haven't finished watching the second season of Slings and Arrows, because I got distracted by other shows).

Tell me about it! I have 200GB or so of media on my harddrive and I think about 75% of it is unwatched!

Yeah, I really liked it. I'm been reading lots of Blair/Jim right now, because now I actually know what the characters sound/move like. It's a whole new experience, very exciting (hmm... I should try to get some kind of TS icon).

TS is my primary fandom so I know the feeling :-)

If you're looking for an icon, you should try at [livejournal.com profile] ts_iconart, this is the one and only Sentinel icon community; hopefully you'll find something to your liking.

I only remember seeing one episode of this show, because it had Mitch Richmond and Malik Sealy in it. (NBA Players) But there are people on my flist who watched. So I'll probably read but not comment on any meta or posts you have about it.

I've only seen a handful of Sentinel, it was shown in Australia on a very late night timeslot for a bit.

But I do recall liking it, and one episode, I think in the third season is whoah, slashy, but that might be just my memory of it.

I'm excited it's on DVD. I've noticed both it and Due South have been getting a lot of fan interest revival lately. I like that.

It's a very slashy show so far. And I have heard that it just gets slashier. It is the only slashy show that I know of where the guys are living together, so that helps with the slashiness.

And DVD is so wonderful. I'm thrilled about what it's doing for older television shows, too.

They live together in House ;)

Of course, I technically Hercules and Iolaus umm, lived/travelled together.

Hee, yes, these are such good points. I can't believe that I forgot about House/Wilson sharing space (though, sadly, it really was temporary in that case).

I'm only up to the third episode of my rewatch of Hercules and Iolaus was only in the first one! I've been so disappointed (though I did like both blind!DOOOOOOOM!guy and Salmoneous (that is so not spelled right)).

The thing about Jim and Blair is that they are OTP in a way my other OTPs aren't. Like, Jack/Daniel are my favourite slash couple but I could totally believe that Daniel's greatest love was Sha're, and Jack's happiest years were with Sara. I can pair Jack and Daniel with other men or with women, and it could work. But with Jim and Blair, it's so obvious that they are Meant To Be, it's difficult to imagine either of them with a woman, living happily ever after. Any woman (or man) dating one of them would eventually come up against the cold hard fact that Jim will always come first with Blair, and vice versa. Because they're already married, they just don't know it.

Having seen up to Ice Man, dude, yes, totally. Because Blair is clearly into women, a lot, but there's still this complete specialness in how he relates with Jim (speaking of women in Sentinel, I really liked the med student/escort in that episode) (and vice versa, though I'd say that Jim is, wow, even more obvious, omg). I mean, clearly Blair isn't even considering moving out any more, and Jim certainly doesn't want him going anywhere.

Whereas, yeah, with SG-1, Daniel and Jack's het relationships exist in a special 'slash-free' zone. They were clearly and obviously very real and tender relationships in a way that Jim's marriage just wasn't ("Maybe if you'd kissed me like that before, we'd still be married."), so much so that I really can't read or believe in J/D slash that's set before Sha're's death.
