The pre-trip excitement is starting to get to me, I think. I'm getting all nervous and fluttery and incapable of sleep. I want to already be in Chicago, hanging out with vidding-type people.
A little while ago, I think I said something along the lines of "Oh, now that "Journey's End" has aired, I may never have another Doctor/Rose vid idea" and now I've ended up making two vids for them that are sitting on my external HD, mocking me. Um. Yes. So, those may appear after VividCon. I'm going to try to release the Donna vid that I'm working on first, but one of the D/R ones may slip out. Because. Apparently, I find them even more interesting now. Possibly my rewatching is to blame for this. I really don't think that I've ever loved a fictional pairing as much as I love the Doctor and Rose (and this may be, in part, because I'm not sure I've ever just flat-out adored a character as much as I do Rose or admired an actor the way I do David). They are endlessly fascinating to me. They really are the perfect meld of great writing, directing and the amazing acting from Billie, Chris and David (plus the smoking chemistry). And there's so much complexity and depth in the characterization. RTD's stuff, in particular, feels like it's been written directly to my writing kinks. I really am, after seeing QaF (UK), Bob and Rose, Casanova, and Doctor Who, prepared to say that I'm such a complete Russell fan. I adore his characters, how rich and real they feel. He resonates with me.
Because of VVC, I'm not posting a Doctor Who episode review this upcoming Saturday. I'll be writing about "Aliens of London"/"World War Three" on the 23rd. I'm really enjoying doing these. There are so many connecting strands and so many consistent character pieces.

Date: 2008-08-13 04:53 pm (UTC)I always ends up forgetting the details of plots anyway, because it doesn't interest me. People interest me and Russell does so well with them.
Casanova is really great (sadly, have not yet seen The Second Coming). It actually kinda textualizes one of the things that I love about his writing: his awareness of women as people. That women are people, just like men, is something that so many writers seem to forget. They write women as if they are unknowable and unfathomable. Russell, though, is all... 'no, women are definitely people -- they make just as much sense and nonsense as men do'. And I love him for that.
I look forward to your vids.
Aw, thank you.
