butterfly: (Back Again -- Doctor/Rose)
[personal profile] butterfly

I have to say, moving this week was possibly the best choice -- it's before summer quarter starts, so I have time but it is very handily between the two parts of the Doctor Who finale, so I can't think the possibilities to death.

It'll probably be a while before everything settles down, but we're getting there. School starts up again the week of the 14th (though my first class isn't until the 15th). Vividcon is next month (*squees*).

Saw Hancock; may have a new OT3.

Okay, back to unpacking and organizing.

Lucky you. Doctor Who has driven me nuts ALL WEEK.

I'm pretty excited about it. Eee! So many companions (and their families!)! And Rose!

Moving usually sucks but at least you picked a good time to do it.

Saw Hancock today too, and I can definitely see the threesome. Also, just a great movie.

It was fantastic! It managed to surprise me several times (I did not see the 'wife is also superpowered' twist coming and that delighted me so much -- she was just great and I loved her character motivations) and I love that the way it showed the love these people had for each other -- that Mary loves Hancock enough to want to stay away from him (and him her), but she also very clearly adores Ray (and Hancock put a heart on the moon for Ray, which is possibly the sweetest thing that I have ever seen in my life.

There was a lot of character growth for the protagonist (and Will Smith did such a good job -- I always love him, but he was even better than I was expecting). Plus, I didn't know going into it that Jason Bateman was in it and I adored him in Arrested Development, so seeing him was the best surprise ever.

Totally did not see her being super powered too, and it was like the best surprise ever. I knew Bateman was in it and he did not disappoint (although I'm back to missing AD again) and yeah Smith was even better than I expected going in. It was just suck a well crafted story and a fairly unconventional superhero love story woven through it.

Maybe I should focus on that rather than biting my nails for Doctor Who.

It really was unexpected in so many ways. I can't remember the last movie I went to that was so delightfully surprising. It was well-written, had good pacing, and just terrific acting.

I was totally OT3-ing them too, and I am not by nature an 0T3 kind-of girl. It may have something to do with the fact that they are 3 of the most gorgeous people living *g* But in any case Ray is totally spending every other weekend in NYC. I'm crossing my fingers for some fic, and soon.

Oh, I'd love to read some fic for them!

Yeah, those are some very pretty people. And I love that each duo had chemistry as well as the three of them together.

But in any case Ray is totally spending every other weekend in NYC.

Definitely! And every once in a while, the three of them get together in a deserted location.

The chemistry was such a pleasant surprise - it's not often you have an overabundance of it like that. When Hancock was taking Ray's shoes off some of the people in the theater starting doing the 'I'm uncomfortable with these vibes' seat-shift, because even though Ray was being adorable there was some fantastic sizzling between the characters.

No point in letting that trailer go to waste *g*

I could hear people doing that in my theater, too! And I actually whispered, "Oh, I think I'm starting to 'ship them," to my roommate about a second before Ray said, "And my shoes are all you're taking off." I found the timing to be delightfully hilarious. And I just can't get over the whole thing where Hancock put a heart on the moon for Ray.

Oh, that is perfect timing! My friend doesn't know of my shipping tendencies so I just keep the glee on the inside. And also: ON THE MOON. ::hearts; Hancock: The attraction was so clearly equal between all three of them.

This is clearly going to end up being one of those repeat viewings, I can already tell.

Oh, yes! I already want to see it again.

The attraction was so clearly equal between all three of them.

Yes! At first, I was all, "Oh, no! Why is adorable/loving wife Mary giving Hancock so many odd/intriguing looks?" and then we found out that she actually had a relationship with him first and that helped so much. I really love how important she ended up being and that really cool plot twist.

I’m glad you made it to the new place in one piece. (I hope all your things did, too. That’s usually the worst part of a move.) Good luck with unpacking and settling in.

P.S. Does your next semester start on the fourteenth of July, or the fourteenth of August?

Thanks! So far, almost everything appears to be -- we had a bit of a scare with one of our external hard drives, but it's working now.

P.S. Does your next semester start on the fourteenth of July, or the fourteenth of August?

July!
