So, I've previously asked, "What did Rose see when she looked in the TARDIS?"
After seeing this trailer, I've got another question -- what did Gwyneth see?
"The things you've seen... the darkness... the big bad wolf." And we mostly just assumed that 'the darkness' meant the dark and dangerous things that Rose would face. Except in this trailer, Rose says that what's coming is 'the darkness'. Did Gwyneth see a hint of this in Rose's future? What's so 'the' about this darkness?
I love the way the Doctor says, "Yeah," when Donna says that Rose coming back is good, no matter what else is happening. Because, yes, it is. No matter what else is going on, Rose coming back is a good thing.
So, Rose saying, "Right, now we're in trouble," strike anyone else as very Doctor-ish?
Also, was the top half of one of those Daleks in the trailer enveloped in darkness? Interesting.
Now, for your moment of squee:
ROSE! YAY!

Date: 2008-05-24 10:30 pm (UTC)I do have to agree that Rose does a bit Doctor-ish throughout the trailer. It'll be very interesting to see/hear what has happened to her and how much time has come and gone for her.
Oh and thank you! I've been trying to remember where else I had heard "the Darkness" bit and Gwyneth was definitely one of them. I wonder if that phrase has come up anywhere else.

Date: 2008-05-24 10:37 pm (UTC)Things really are coming full circle, aren’t they? I thought last week’s reference to “The Unquiet Dead” was just a joke, but… *grins*
That’s pretty much how I feel about the finale at the moment. No matter what else happens, I’ll get to see Rose again. I can’t quite bring myself to care about anything else.
OMG ROSE!!!

And I haven't seen SJA, but maybe someone knows if it may have been mentioned there, as well?

Date: 2008-05-31 04:40 am (UTC)Speculation: if the darkness is death, then the 'thing coming for Jack' is actually Rose as Bad Wolf, bringing him back to life whenever he slips into that darkness.
(no subject)
Date: 2008-05-24 11:12 pm (UTC)And I think Torchwood dabbled into the Darkness thing a bit, but for when people died, no? I don't remember actually.
It was a very good midseries trailer :D Me likey it. And me lovey The Doctor.

Date: 2008-05-24 11:56 pm (UTC)Heck, didn't Nine say exactly that at some point? I can't remember which episode, but I distinctly hear his voice in my head saying that. ETA: He did say it! In "Rose," right after he catches her after she swung through and knocked the anti-plastic in. Awesome. *bounces*
As for the rest... ROSE IS COMING BACK! ROSE IS COMING BACK, THE DOCTOR KNOWS AND WHEEEEEEE!!!!

Date: 2008-05-31 04:43 am (UTC)And yes! So, another S1 reference there, then. Very exciting.

Date: 2008-05-25 12:57 am (UTC)Ahhh but wasn't Gwyneth more scared by the big bad wolf? AND the big bad wolf mention came after the darkness.
So, I'm a little worried and a lot excited.

Date: 2008-05-31 02:54 pm (UTC)I was skepcial about Rose's return to begin with but I think it's desperately needed now because she really didn't get the closure she deserved the first time and I can see why so many fans got so vocal and upset. I really do hope her comeback will offer a better sense of closure than Doomsday did.

Date: 2008-05-25 04:04 am (UTC)Rose herself seems darker. Does anyone else get the feeling she's become a soldier, thanks to whatever's happening?
(no subject)
Date: 2008-05-25 03:10 pm (UTC)Aww! I had nearly finished reading all these posts and was just about to post this myself, when I came across yours; you beat me to it!
I'm totally excited because the strands of all four series' are coming together, just as I hoped they would. It had better not be an anticlimax...
Rose herself seems darker.
Yes, she does. Personally, that is how I felt she would have become, following her separation for the Doctor, just as he did.
Does anyone else get the feeling she's become a soldier
Hmm...like Jenny...

Date: 2008-05-31 04:50 am (UTC)Rose definitely seems a little colder than she used to be... but so is the Doctor, so that makes sense.

Date: 2008-05-25 03:13 pm (UTC)So do I!
So, Rose saying, "Right, now we're in trouble," strike anyone else as very Doctor-ish?
Very much so. Looks like Jackie's prophecy in AoG is starting to be realised...

Date: 2008-05-31 04:51 am (UTC)Of course, now that Jackie has made a big change of her own, she probably has a different perspective on things.
