I totally adore Kara. Lana has been consistently fantastic for the last couple of seasons. And Chloe is getting her spark back! I'm so happy about that! With the news that Lois is out getting stories for the Daily Planet, we've got quite the winning streak going on with the women.
Lex was also great this week, especially in his scene with Kara (where he referenced his failed friendship with Clark). Jimmy was adorable. And Clark was wonderful, both as a mentor and in welcoming Lana home. Those scenes worked really well for me.
Supernatural: The Kids are Alright
Oh, Mysterious Demon Chick, I adore you so much. I could not be more delighted with the revelations about MDC. She's evil (which I semi-hoped against last week, but I'm fine with it this week, because she was so much fun), but having a ball. I loved both her conversations with Sam, so much. Oh, and I loved her for getting Sam to look into his mom's background. That was such a powerful scene. And she had some great lines (I really like her delivery), plus, definite chemistry with Jared. I want to rewatch their conversations, like, a million times. So much love.
Sam continues to be wonderful in this episode (calling for pizza! in a restaurant! worst! lie! ever! I love him so much). Dean was great (Ben was adorable). The kids were fantastically creepy.
Yay!

Date: 2007-10-12 05:53 am (UTC)I loved that SO MUCH. As well as the scene where he references Clark's unflappable ethics to Lana and he actually worries her.
And Lois already being sent to New York and something about Rwanda? Dammit, I want to hear her talk about this stuff!

It sounds like he sent her to New York to cover something (yay!) and she wants to go to Rwanda (good for her!). I like that her editors look at her and think, 'yeah, she could handle going out on assignment already'. That's probably another place where her army brat background helps her out -- they figure she can handle it.

Date: 2007-10-14 03:57 pm (UTC)I suspected something was up with her because she had slow-mo. Only supernatural things get nifty camera tricks on this show (and if they hadn't done a supernatural reveal, then there might have been reasons for people to worry about the 'Mary Sue' thing because... only supernatural things have previously had nifty camera tricks on this show). But I was really pleased that we found out the truth this quickly.

Date: 2007-10-19 06:46 am (UTC)I need to investigate the deepness further. Because last week finally hooked me good, but I still have issues. Which, you know, hell, I had issues with Jossverse too, but I would like to find more shiny goodness than issue with this show, and right now, I feel like I'm on the verge of full blown fan, but not quite there yet.
It took me most of first season to get to full-blown fannishness. I was surprised when I realized that I loved the brothers so much that the cliffhanger at the end of S1 utterly ripped out my heart (of course, I also watched the first season over the course of four days, so it was a relatively short time, objectively-speaking).
