Eureka!

So, I watched the pilot of Eureka, liked it, and then completely failed to watch the rest of the show as it aired on Sci-Fi. However, I did dl it from a friend when the opportunity presented itself and now I've finally gotten around to watching it.

I've seen up to episode 5 -- Doctor Nobel and... I finally fell in love with Carter. It was the machine that did it. And possibly the adorable kissing and the slips of 'we' and 'I'. He was just so incredibly cute in this episode. Before now, I liked him quite a bit, but now! I just love him. And I like his daughter now, too, which is great, because I hadn't liked her at all until her interactions with Eugenia.

Anyway, I love Jack Carter's vibes with pretty much everyone -- Henry, Jo, Nathan, Allison, Fargo, etc. And I like the relationships in the town itself -- it really is apparent that life happened before Carter found the town.

I may try to wander about and see if I can find Eureka's fandom. If anyone knows any good places to check out, I'd love to know. Gen, slash, or het.

Isn't it a great show? I love how interesting and quirky all the characters are, and how easily they all seem to accept each other's quirks. And the relationships just get better as the season goes along.

Eureka is awesome. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of fandom for it. There is a newsletter that comes out occasionally at eureka_newslttr and a general comm at eureka_tv, but that's pretty much all that I know of. Let me know if you find anything else though; I'd love to be proven wrong!

Are you named Eugenia? If so, you may be disappointed, because I think she's a one-shot character. She's a really great one-shot, though. And she shares a kiss with the lead character.

scifi ran the entire season as a marathon over thanksgiving so my brother and i sat down to watch and we just died laughing and just adored the characters and quirks of the show and i'm curious as to where the fandom is too.

I *adore* Eureka. I didn't think I would; I started out watching it simply because there was nothing else on and it looked somewhat interesting. But Carter is adorable, and I love all the other characters. Sadly, I haven't seen much fic. The closest I came was a series in which some Stargate characters moved to Eureka, but it was more about the Stargate characters than Eureka.

Carter is very, very adorable. Though his name makes me think that Sam and Jack went back about forty years and secretly had a child. It doesn't help that he's snarky and protective!

There really isn't much in the way of fandom for Eureka outside of the comms mentioned above; there's two separate LJ comms for the fic (sorry, I'm blanking on what they are now.)

I've written a Carter fic that ended up being the first fic posted for the fandom. The good news is it's one of the fandoms available for the annual Yuletide challenge; we may see a surge of new fic. :-) At least, that's what I'm hoping....
