butterfly: (Rebooting Destiny -- Lois/Clark (by leez)

Right now, I love it more than any other night of the week.

I absolutely adored tonight's episode of Smallville. Clark got to do a little guiding of Oliver tonight, in return for Oliver's advice last week. I'm glad that they've made that relationship more balanced. I adored Lois, as always, and loved seeing Lane and Kent working on the same thing. And I adored her response to Clark's saying that sometimes people lie to protect others. She's right (though she worded it somewhat offensively). That's an incredibly stupid reason, though a standard one for superheroes to give. People get hurt because of secrets but (as we've seen with Lana and others) they get hurt regardless of whether or not they know the truth. I liked seeing Lois call bullshit on bad reasoning. Clark has the right to keep secrets, but protecting others is a crappy reason for it.

And I loved all of her other lines tonight, too -- Lois is always so much fun to watch and listen to. Oh! And her giving up the article because she thought doing it would be in bad taste! That made me want to snuggle her times a million (and Clark liked it, too!).

It was great to get a Lex-focused episode -- it really helped me get a handle on where his character currently is and where he's going. He's definitely moving along on that downward slide of his.

And Lana really is right there with him. I'm not sure that they're going to end up with comics status quo and have Lana learn Clark's secret. More and more, I think that Chloe is the comics!Lana stand-in (who was, herself, originally created to be the pre-Metropolis Lois Lane stand-in), because the Lana Lang that we have in Smallville is not (and has never been) much like her.

And I have so much love for Simon Said that I have absolutely no words. Just love, man.

It's nice to meet you, Sara. I'm sorry, but I don't really know any Spanish.

Yes! I loved that. I love that they seem to be becoming friends.

I adored Lois, as always, and loved seeing Lane and Kent working on the same thing.

Foreshadowing of the future! Oh, man, that was so typically Lane & Kent on the hunt, I loved it.

And her giving up the article because she thought doing it would be in bad taste! That made me want to snuggle her times a million (and Clark liked it, too!).

Yay! And thus proving to Clark that, if the reason is good enough, she will let go of a story, which is brilliant.

Oliver looked all comfy in Clark's barn, too. They could make quite cute friends.

It was lovely! I was so thrilled to see that -- and I loved that Clark called Lois back after he broke the lock. He wouldn't have done that in S4, I don't think. He would have let her wander off to look for keys.

Yay! And thus proving to Clark that, if the reason is good enough, she will let go of a story, which is brilliant.

Definitely. Wonderful to see. I love the two of them together so much.

I love Thursdays the most too in terms of TV. I really loved Smallville as well. It was awesome how Lois pointed out that the protecting others from secrets was stupid, I will never be behind that excuse. Its usually to protect your own skin. A Lex centric episode is never a bad thing for me.

Lex was really good in this episode!

I loved Lois there at the end. Because, yes, Clark's secret-keeping is about keeping Clark safe, more than anyone else. The other reason is mostly an excuse.
