I don't know your mom, but an ex of mine was (well, still is) a cutter, and when things got really bad between us, I often got really mad at him for cutting, and told him it proved how much he didn't care about me or how I felt about him. I know it was because I was so worried that he'd go too far, and I'd lose him forever. She may just be worried, too. Take care. *hugs*
