It was blood curling the way Daniel just said he should have killed her when he had the occasion, but at the same time, it was really him. Moreso considering his experience and latest disilusionment with the Ancients.
Definitely in character, but, yeah, Daniel can be cold when he needs to be.
But yeah, it was odd Sam was so shocked, like she couldn't deal with the idea Daniel was able to do such a thing.
