Hitting bottom

butterflyOne of the things that stuck out at me in Fight Club was the talk about 'hitting bottom'. Although, there's a lot of stuff in there that rings true for me.
Not the fighting, but other things. Things that happened because of the fights.
Quotes that particularly hit me:
"This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time."
"When people think you're dying, they listen, instead of waiting for their turn to speak."
Tyler Durden: "How's that working out for you?"
Narrator: "What?"
Tyler Durden: "Being clever."
Narrator: "Great."
Tyler Durden: "Keep it up, then."
"You have a kind of sick desperation in your laugh."
"I don't wanna die without any scars."
"If I could wake up in a different place, at a different time, could I wake up as a different person?"
