butterflyI've been reading Kellie Matthews's due South fic and it's making me realize how much sexual tension is a matter of perspective.
That's not quite what I mean. Let's try again. Put it a different way.
I like reading about sex if it's in character. If the sex is just 'insert tab a into slot b' then it's pointless and adds nothing to the story. You want to have sex that resonates with the character. And that's what Kellie does. Fraser uses the phrase 'gluteus maximii' and it's hot because it's a Fraser way of saying it. Everyone is unique, even (especially?) in bed. Or up against a wall. Or on the floor. Or in a car.

Sex only works for me if it serves story, basically. This includes plotless porn, 'cause in that case the sex is the story.
