The video that Evanescence made for it is a touch of a disappointment, because it doesn't capture the feelings that the song inspires in me.
Bring me to Life is a demand, a plea, a scream into the night. It uses forceful phrases and it... orders even as it begs.
And now, after seeing End of Days, the song makes me think of B/A. I'm rather hoping this is a phase, as I've been a B/Xer since my beginning in BtVS and I like being a B/Xer.
But yes. Lots of lines are bringing the B/A relationship to me. And it's kinda now B/A. Buffy has been pulling out of her depression, but damn, she just lit up when she saw Angel.
So, if I were making a B/A vid to Bring me to Life, I'd start out with her being all miserable and such, after coming back to life, and then Angel shows up in End of Days and they kiss on 'home' (I'd do my best to correspond the woman singing to Buffy pov and the guy to Angel pov).
Then I'd go back in time. 'Wake me up' could be Buffy coming back to life in Prophecy Girl. And that chorus can deal with all that stuff that leads to him turning evil, maybe.
Second section 'Now that I know what I'm without', can be her dealing with Angelus. I'd have 'breath into me and make me real' with the kiss from I Only Have Eyes for You.
Second chorus takes us through him leaving for LA.
Then we'd have the Forever B/A-ness.
Then the two of them miserable apart, and we'd hit the present again on the last 'Bring me to life'.
Of course, I don't know what'll happen in Chosen, so there might be more B/A-ness there. Which would fit at the end of the song.
Oh, damn. I'm so going to do a Bring me to Life B/A icon set. I can practically see it now.
