The Little Journal - A Faery Tale
Sep. 12th, 2003 02:23 pmOnce upon a timeā¦
There was a girl. And she was a girl at the beginning, shy and tentative, unsure and very lost.
Like many girls, this one hurt so much inside that she felt the need to force it out through physical pain.
She felt very alone.
No matter how many people she had around her, she was lonely.
One day, she found a place where she could write down her thoughts. Many girls in the world have journals, but hers was special.
Hers could talk back.
Time passed. The girl grew older.
She learned emotionally what she knew intellectually - the journal that could talk back was a great network of people. People who felt and thought and dreamed and lived.
She became a young woman, still untried in the ways of the world, but willingly trusting and true.
Some of the people she spoke to in her journals became dear friends.
And she felt less and less alone as each day passed.
Her confidence grew and her pain lessened.
Then one not-so-special day, the young woman looked around and realized that she was as worthy as any other person and that every other was as worthy as she.
That was the day that she knew she was a woman and not a girl.
And without the little journal, she might never have made it.
The End
Thank you, each and every one. I love you all.
I'm thrilled to have made it to 3,000 posts and hope that I'm around long enough to hit 30,000.
