butterflyWhile I wait impartiently for tonight's new Angel, I'm rewatching more of S2. Naturally, I've had more thoughts on it.
Dear Boy - Ah-ha. This is the episode that lets us know that vampires can tell when a woman's a virgin (Angelus mentions that the three daughters are all virgins), which comes into play in Inside Out as a handy way for Connor to find one.
"Let her go, bro - that way lies badness." Truer words were never spoken. Angel lost a lot chasing Darla. And, of course, sleeping with Darla led to Connor led to Jasmine.
"This is way off your path." Just what did Lorne see in Angel's path?
It all comes down to a choice. And you don't know what the consequences will be, but you have to make it anyway.
"Killing is so merciful in the end, isn't it? The pain is ended."
That reminds me of Connor. Or rather, Connor reminds me of that, I suppose.
"There's nothing that I respect more than loyalty... but if the bad Angel walks through that door I will kill him in two seconds flat."
And that reminded me of Gunn's quick turn-around on Wes in S3.
Guise Will Be Guise - I love how defensive this whole thing makes Angel. He's so lost at first, dealing with this mature, take-charge Wesley.
Oh, and gah. Wes is so sexy in this episode. This is the first time that Wesley takes off his glasses for a significant period of time and it really does make him look different. He looks... oddly both more dangerous and yet also more vulnerable.
Darla - Great episode. Oddly enough, I don't really have any thoughts on it. I think that I'm too busy wondering about what'll happen tonight in Destiny.
The Shroud of Rahmon - I'd just like to say that Angel as Jay-Don amuses the hell out of me. Of course, I enjoy it when Angel gets to play a role. Which isn't at all the same as when Angel himself is a big dork, which I find less endearing. And it's actually pretty deep, in retrospect. But again, I can't seem to concentrate on the past when a new episode is so close.
