What is up with people having the characters wonder about the origin of the once-used nickname 'Space Monkey'? I've read a dozen times where Jack or Daniel has gone "Where did that come from?" and not one that offered a plausible answer. It's especially silly when Jack's the one wondering, because he's the one who used it. If you can't come up with an explanation, just leave that bit out of your story. It made sense to the character at the time. He's not confused about it.
