Watching Jack onscreen is sheer joy. I remember how shocked I was at first by Richard Jean Anderson's portrayal of O'Neill, when before I'd only been familiar (vaguely) with the movie version O'Neill, played by Kurt Russell. But it was a good shock.
Jack's a fun, fun character. I can't wait to see more General Jack. Because. Fun.
I'm also a very, very big supporter of Daniel.
Yeah, Daniel's... he's smart, snarky, and he tries really hard to do the right thing. Most of the characters that I love most tend to share those qualities. Intelligence, wit, and determination are way sexy. As well as a certain off-kilter way of viewing the world.
I'm a recent convert to Stargate, so I've been catching up on episodes from past seasons that Sci-Fi Channel airs throughout the week, and it's been so much fun reading all the fic, too. I'm pretty particular on how I see the Stargate characters--perhaps even moreso than other shows/fandoms I love--and your view of them really works for me.
Yeah, me, too. And once I started watching, I was all, "If only I'd known the greatness!" Though honestly, I'm glad that I wasn't watching when Season Five and Six first aired. Because now, watching Meredian and Season Six is fine because it's part of Daniel's journey. If I'd thought that Meredian was the end of the road for him, I probably would have freaked. I stopped watching Angel for quite a while after Doyle died. I know that I would have hated Jonas Quinn if I'd been watching SG-1 in real time. But because I know that Daniel comes back, I have no issues. Which is nice, because Corin (I think that's his name) is way cute and I really like Jonas.
