Because they are much more emotionally draining than fandom posts.
To everyone outside the United States:
It sucks. We know. Just remember that forty-eight percent of the voting population voted against the man, and this is the closest vote for a wartime US president ever.
To people who voted for Bush:
You won. Enjoy the next four years.
To everyone who voted either for Kerry and/or against Bush:
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty." Mal, Serenity.
We did good. More people voted against Bush than for any US president in history. Most votes against a wartime president ever. Despite the incredible rise in voters overall, the youth percentage stayed at 17%, meaning more young people voted than ever before. We did good, we just need to do better. Take your time, grieve, but remember that in two years, we will desperately need you. Two years after that, we will again desperately need you. And in-between, we need to educate, motivate, and organize. We will need you.
We lost a battle, but the war for freedom and equality in our homeland has not ended, may not ever end. We have to fight for every step forward. It's always easier not to change. We have to fight to go the hard road.
We have to be the strong ones.
