He just keeps on flirting and she just keeps on avoiding (of course, she never got the chance to properly tell him off the last time she tried and she never really can seem to work up the forcefulness to kick the puppy to discourage him once and for all). So she tries subtlety, which doesn't work with him because... overeager puppy. Overwhelm people with enough friendliness and they won't look past pushing you off their chest. Like I said at some other point, I doubt that it's intentional, but considering what we do find out later, it makes sense as a subconscious protective instinct. Plus, he does want people to like him. This is a man whose entire personality screams that he never felt wanted enough as a child (which we find out to be true in epic proportions later on).

Love that O'Brien's absence is mentioned more than once. Sisko misses him! Bashir misses him!

Love the double-punch of Kira and Sisko here. They really start to work well as a team starting here.

Wow, Julian gets incredibly braggy here. Again, it works well -- by praising himself so loudly and being annoying about it, Kira writes him off as an arrogant ass. Anyone going on that much about fate and natural talent is clearly hiding something, but he's so brash about it that she gets mad at him and doesn't think.

I love how prickly some of these relationships (like Sisko and Odo) are in the beginning.

Huh, when you know that Vantika has taken Bashir's body, you can hear that it is El Siddig whispering there.

Neat.

"What kind of fool are you?"
Odo: "My own, special variety."

*snerk*

I love him.

Such a control freak.

And while Julian isn't going to ever date Jadzia, they are friends by now -- they use each other's first names and show genuine concern over each other's welfare. It's sweet.

Another O'Brien-less episode.

I mourn.

Nah, I had fun watching it. Though I missed Miles.

Hmm, in context, Julian's nervousness could be related to his expression of doubt at the end of the previous episode. He already feels like he let people down (even with his better brain, he couldn't stop himself from being controlled), so he's nervous and a bit at sea.

Confirmation of what most people (people not Julian) use the holosuite for: "Do you know what a holosuite is? Do you have sex on your world?"

One of my favorite things about Julian is that he does things in stride (I love his smile when Sisko makes fun of him for screaming).

Jake was such a cute kid. And then he grew up so much. It was pretty neat.

So, Julian and Jadzia figure out the first puzzle. Julian gets the second one, partly by accident but also because it does intuitively make sense.

Quark wanting Odo to blow on his dice for luck! Eeep!

Cute episode.
