Oh, professional SF/F writers & editors, why so much fail?

RaceFail09 continues. Oh, boy, does it continue. It's long and intense. Read it anyway. (But if it's too much, try this timeline of how it all started and here for a quick recap of the recent developments).

Or, rather, it got resurrected by the SF/F pro side just when everything had started to settle (good thing that has come out of RaceFail: verb_noire, which is an organizing community for a small press for authors of color, featuring characters of color) and they (they specifically being Kathryn Cramer and Will Shetterly) resurrected it in a particularly nasty way: the bullying and hypocritical outing of a fan's legal name (coffeeandink).

If anyone tries to argue to me that both sides are behaving equally badly... no. One side is collecting links (of what people are actually saying) and (yes) judging them based on that, while the other side is saying horrible and damaging things and then attempting to cover their tracks by deleting, backtracking on their previous statements, moving their posts, and even redirecting links to spammer sites. That is not equally bad. That is the SF/F pro side being a lot worse. They are also the ones who have (twice now) brought the entire thing up again, and did it both times in very insulting and potentially damaging ways, using threats and attempts to silence the other side.
