Gay Rights

There's something of a meme going around on this right now.

"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" - Ernest Gaines

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights".

I'm not entirely sure who 'we' is. I don't know if anyone's bopping around trying to count all the posts or if the we represents all the people who post.

Still, public statements help with visibility.

In case anyone was ever in any doubt, I support full rights for all thinking and feeling beings. I believe consenting adults have the right to do whatever the hell they want with each other, whether that's legalizing a relationship in the eyes of the government or having kinky sex (have, not should have -- I speak of basic human rights, not legality). I think two people have the right to walk down a street holding hands without needing to worry about whether or not other people will be happy about seeing them.

Love is not immoral and it's not unethical. Love is the recognition that we are not alone, not separate, but that we are all connected to each other by bonds that cannot be seen and cannot be broken.
